Sod it, I just went ahead and pre-ordered the Z5 in black on EE. I was on T-Mobile before:
10GB (Double speed and EU Roaming)
Unlimited SMS and Calls
FREE Phone
£38.49 (includes the 30% F&F Discount)
Basically doubled my current monthly cost but that included taking a hit on the F&F discount as its 50% on T-Mobile... Had to come off it at some point I guess :/
Worked out that the extra £19/month comes to £456 over 24 month contract so its less than the handset alone. Also, really needed to upgrade the tired old S3![]()
Glad these phones are being well received - need Sony to remain in the smartphone business.
Personally I really dislike the design - honestly think they look terrible but will wait til I see one in the flesh before writing it off my list of potential upgrades.
Except they aren't the same, two biggest features people decide on, screen size and battery are different.
The Lenovo with a whopping 5000mah looks interesting as well.
At present I think the Z3 is the sleekest looking phone on the market. It has no physical buttons on the front, and those on the side are done tastefully and are well thought out in design.
With the screen off, the entire front is seamless in transition from panel to screen. It looks modern and will remain looking modern in another 12 months. The competition simply won't, as they have the tells that give away their design age in various ways.
I think the only other hjgh end phone that follows that kind of styling is the iPhone.
The only thing I'm bummed out about is the loss of magnetic charging contacts. I guess this means I've now got to adopt wireless charging at both home and work and go back to micro USB in the car...
Employee discount - family or friend.Where/how do you get one of those F&F discounts?
Employee discount - family or friend.
Design isn't just about how nice it looks when sat on your desk at work - its also about how it feels to actually use and too me their design is 100% weighted in style over substance.
The phone may look modern in 12 months time when you're looking at it with the screen turned off but with the screen on those vertical bezels are anything but modern![]()
hand size is nothing to do with it (I still have my note 3) - just that phones with rounded backs feel considerably more pleasant in the hand... something I really wish Sony would employ into the phones instead of sticking with the squared off brick formula they have stuck with since forever!
I think you're pushing the excuses now Rimsy
The Note 3 has a curved back cover yes, but it also has a sharper edge bezel which is also groove striped. The Z3 has a curved and smooth edge lining. The Note 3 edge is in all essence sharper on the palm, but still comfortable. I had the Note 3 remember.
I never said the Note 3 was comfortable- merely that i have one
