Space Hulk: Deathwing

Meh! Even with a fury x my avg FPS is about 39 - 45 @ 3440 x 1440.

Is that maxed out? If so, what do you expect at 4k? That sounds quite reasonable on a brand new unreal engine 4 game on what is now a fairly old/ mid to high range graphics card with only 4gb vram at 4k.

By those results, fps should be great on my 1080 at 1440p.

Game is fine.

Have 2.7 hours in the game so far and enjoying it. My only let down is the limited resolutions available in options but maybe I can force what I want.

I read there is some bugs, like if host presses "I" to change class/equipment, it can crash/freeze the game.

Game is pretty hard, am playing on the hardest setting and am stuck at the last hold and defend section in the first level.

Glad i saw this part, the I to change class/equipment, was in a game with a friend and twice (i was host) when i tried to go into the equipment setting it crashed the game completely.

Otherwise i was actually really enjoying it, tense atmosphere, swarms from anywhere keep me on my toes and it's fun! (until the crashes haha) :D

If you select "Codex Rules" then you don't need to worry about this, I try to find games using that now.

If you get the "keyboard stop" working bug, when you can shoot or do anything, smash a door/close/hack a door and that fixes it. I think the problem starts by using doors or hacking them.

I got 6 hours in the game now which likely half of that is trying to find a game online. It's almost impossible to play online. It's none stop network errors and even if you lucky to get inside a game, you got about 10-15 minutes till you get a network error.

Slow loading times even on a SSD is ****, god heavens someone trying to play this on a normal HDD.

Also my "ESC" button doesn't work, so when am in a game, am stuck in game till I die and decide to quit.

Aside from that the game looks really awesome, the maps are really great and stomping around the Hulk with 3 others in a team covering each other is awesome.

But I feel like I been stung.

I know it's my own fault, but playing this on Q6600/6950 is painful, I get 9-15 FPS everywhere online. In single player it can hover around 20-25 but can drop when you get attacked and that's on everything on low. Jesus I get higher FPS in Crysis and Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Changing resolution doesn't help, I tired playing at 1080p from my native 3600x1200 and no to little FPS change, very CPU bounded.

They should had used a different game engine like UE3 or Chrome Engine or something else maybe with some updates. The game would had looked great and pretty still but playable for everyone.

People with i5/i7's and 1080p are complaining about bad FPS/performance, which just goes to show how bad the optimising of the game is.

Worthabuy? has done his review.

He loves it !!!! he talks about the short comings and repetitive nature of the game but is quite positive and gives it the thumbs up !!

Few hours ago, I had the most enjoyable game I ever had which lasted about 30-40 minutes I guess with a decent team then I got "network error" and couldn't rejoin anything.

So depressing.

Played all through the SP on normal. Pretty straightforward, except a few sections. Steam says it took me 16hours.

It mostly ran well with a few slowdowns. Not a single crash too! I enjoyed it. :) Very atmospheric and makes you act tactically.

The friendly AI players are mostly OK, but occasionally annoying.

The heavy flamer ROCKS! Easily the best weapon.

The turret hacking bit is a strange pointless after-thought.

A good game IMO, but not great by any means. Room for improvement too. Lets hope we get more hulks, factions, game modes and options as later DLC.

Now I need to get a good group together and COOP on harder settings.

Sounds like it is decent if not perfect. I wasn't expecting it to be game of the year but from some people's first impressions gameplay footage it looks like pretty good fun.

Quite looking forward to just admiring the scenery to be honest.

Yes, worth it for the 40K visual splendor alone I think. I'll wait till it's been out a few months and comes up in a sale or free weekend so I can play with a load of other noobs :D

So I got a £20 steam wallet voucher, this is the only game on there I remotely want. Had a few quid in the wallet already so it cost me £2.86.

The Alpha/Beta ran like crap, this release version is actually very smooth maxed out. I played through the first mission, took 41 mins and I only found two relics but it was actually good fun.

Think I'll keep it and see how things develop :D

Cannot get over the love for the level design, the Templar ship so far has to be my best one (Dorn fanboy), I really want a level just showing a ship off in all its glory with a working crew etc :D

Yeah I played the Templar ship last night. The environment design is just incredible. Performance is better after the hot fix, and it's about one hot fix away from being where it should have been on release.

I'm glad I grabbed it, the performance is far better than beta and the designs throughout the levels are really well detailed.
