Some of the games are quite good, it's just you never see anything other than Madrid/Barca drubbing teams every week on Sky Sports. Individual TV rights and all that.

One for the Arsenal fans tonight, Carlos Vela up front for Sociedad looking all lonely.
 
Can we really say the goals Barca and Real score are world class when La Liga has some horrible looking defences? Out of posistion, following the ball, not sticking with their marker ect. Not saying they don't score world class goals, but the commentators and pundits cream over anything they do that looks fancy.

Its like watching a whale play around with a seal.

Not untill he has retired can a statement like that be said. We still haven't seen him perform for his country.

Maradona and Pele performed for both club and country...

Saying that, Messi does tear up RM when they play.

English defences are just as bad, Utd gave up 6 goals in quite simply the worst defensive performance I've ever seen. Arsenal are rubbish defensive, we gave up more goals, but Utd simply after being 3-1 down, committed defensive suicide, several times over and should have conceded more in that spell.

The EPL defences can be just as bad, top to bottom, City have shipped 2 goals to QPR and Bolton.

Frankly people seem to forget that last year, and before Mourinho Real were a high scoring team that were second only to Barca and not that far behind either, outscoring them several times in recent seasons. La Liga has for several years come down to the games between the top 2 in general, even if they drop points to other teams throughout the year, its almost always the games between the two that decide it.

Same can be said for the EPL most seasons.

In what way is he the greatest player, he was neither the top scorer, nor the top assister last season, while being the "main" man in the best team in the world. That doesn't make him crap either, just, there isn't anything about his game that screams categorically the best. He is however one of the top few ATTACKING players in the world, ever, don't know, he'd be up there.

No idea what country has to do with it, just because we deem Argentina a "big" side apparently Argentina not doing well costs Messi consideration as best player ever in some people's eyes. Would you say the same if Messi was, Belgian, or from San Marino and he wasn't awesome with his country?

It's not just the quality of defending but the commitment, half the Spanish defenders just give up if they think they're beaten and countless times today Real had unchallenged headers in the area which is just criminal.
 
I've got bored of watching La Liga. Real and Barca play good football, particularly Barca, but it's just a procession for the two teams. The only time there's a decent game is when they play each other. The EPL is a way, way better league, like One More Solo says the defending by most of the teams in Spain is appalling; they don't mark properly, work hard enough, or keep their concentration, it's just laughable to watch at times. Real played well today and they have an awesome team, but they didn't play well enough to win 7-1.

The lack of competition really all stems from the separate tv rights deals, it's put Real and Barca in a league of their own.
 
Barca game is on. They were 1-0 for 4 minutes.

Amazing cross from Abidal to Fabregas for the head in to make it 1-1. IF Abidal for that cross alone, please EA.

Chelsea 3-5 Arsenal
UTD 8-2 Arsenal
Bolton 5-0 stoke
UTD 1-6 City

Those are just ones I can remember off the top of my head
Yeah our defence here is immense lol the EPL is really setting the bar....
The defending in some of those games was absolutely woeful and Sunday League style

And for people saying they run away with and the other teams can't cope, are you at all surprised?

Messi, Villa, Sanchez, Fabreas, Iniesta, Xavi, Pedro in one team
Ronaldo, Di Maria, Ozil, Benzema, Alonso, Kaka in another

Probably the best attacking teams and players in all of Europe in the same league and in 2 football clubs!

Greatest player I've seen with the ball at his feet/dribbling/going around defenders e.t.c.

Hurting their passing game, no question about it. Wonder if teams will overly water their pitches now lol. Madrid would probably be winning a game like this because they don't have a purist plan A or nothing approach. Might even have the luxury of being able to lose both Clasicos this season and still finish on top...

LOL 2-1 Athletico. Madrid definitely my favourites for the title this year now.

Athletico have worked hard for their potential win here.

Yeah the defending in LL isn't THAT bad, it's just a combination of:
The top two having outstanding attacking players
Opposition often getting players sent off
Self-fulfilling stuff when teams concede and then almost expect to get thrashed.

Madrid only won 1-0 the other night, they had to work for it. Not every week is a spit-roasting for whoever they play.
