Spanish Football 2011-2012

Hope Madrid win it this year. All the talk about Barca being leaps and bounds above everyone else is annoying. Plus, still hate them for the CL final. :p

There aren't many teams left who don't hate Barca for one final or another :p

Meh, Real will go through a bad period as well most likely, though in La liga that might be 2 draws followed by another 15 wins in a row :p

On the whole EPL/La liga thing earlier, its not that our league is better or our bad teams are better, its just that our best teams are far less consistant. Yes there is a worse financial split up in Spain and Real/Barca do get a silly amount of talent, but its still 11 on the pitch and Valencia went how many years with Silva, Villa and a whole crapload of other talent and didn't get forced to sell early. There is plenty of talent all over the place, I mean, in the EPL Falcao would never have moved to, what, Villa, or Fulham, Newcastle, he'd have only gone to the top 4 while in La Liga he went to a mid table team basically.

They have more money, and a MUCH deeper squad, but Barca have for the past 7-8 years just been seriously better than anyone in the EPL.

I always said Chelsea had a weak squad and after the first 2 years under Moany, not even a stunning first team, Ferrerrererrriiaarrera, Malouda, Mikel, Deco, Schevchenko/Kezman, etc, etc. Utd might be winning but, gibson, Fletcher, Valencia, in the last two seasons Evra, Welbeck, Anderson, Carrick, they wouldn't ever play for someone like Barca/Real, they aren't anywhere near good enough(yes obviously Deco is, but he went to Chelsea when he was deemed past it in La Liga, and thats really it isn't it, he moved from the best team in the world to the best team in the EPL when he lost it.

Barca would do exactly the same if they magically moved to the EPL, Real would as well.

^^The thing is though, English teams had an extremely good track record when it came to producing CL semifinalists during that period, from 2005-9 we had a staggering 12 semifinalists. Barca obviously can hold their own when it comes to recent CL record but surely we should be seeing more of a presence from other Spanish sides, yet aside from 3 Barca appearances they only had one other, Villarreal back in 2006. So we are wiping the floor with the Spanish in general, even the almighty Real Madrid hadn't featured in a semifinal since 2003 until this year. If their 'weaker' teams (i.e. not Barcelona) were the real deal they should have been matching our weaker sides like Liverpool and Arsenal, not being left trailing in their wake when it comes to European competition.

Now obviously a cup format competition doesn't tell the whole story, but I reckon if you put Spanish sides other than RM/Barca into the EPL they would really struggle to finish in the top 4.

Was a good game.

1 Lionel Messi 15
2 Cristiano Ronaldo 14
3 Gonzalo Higuaín 11
4 Roberto Soldado 8
5 Karim Benzema 7

RVP has 13 in arguable the toughest league in Europe. Will see how well he does next season when Real Madrid or Barcelona sign him. RVP staying at Arsenal next season would be career suicide for him. He needs to win something now while he is in his prime. Barcelona could really use another prolific striker as well.

Tonights games.

Real Madrid V Atletico Madrid La Liga 19:00 Sky Sports 1 / HD1
Getafe V Barcelona (Via Red Button) La Liga 21:00 Sky Sports 1 / HD1

God i hate the 10pm kick off.

What 10pm kick off? Barca game is 9pm.

I think next season they are going to try and have every second Barca/Real game kick off at around 11am on sunday... its so Asia can watch the games live.

I find it really weird that Spain have this staying up late culture. Most people over there don't go to bed till 1-2am even though they have work at 8-9am.

Little ****ing rat faced ****!

I hate Di Maria! The worst diving cheat I've ever seen in my life! Horrid little ****!

I do like watching Madrid games a fair bit more than Barca, it's always more entertaining and end to end, and they often have to pull something out of the hat to get the decisive goals.
