Spanish Football 2011-2012

Game is a good example of why Madrid are top this year. They've sometimes played crap away but still find a way to win, even if it's scrappy and ugly, where as Barca have drawn half a dozen games when they've gone to places, the passing hasn't clicked but they can't/won't go to plan B or C.

Every time I see Ronaldo take a free kick these days in the away games there's some idiot shining a laser in his face.

Haha that was the most cynical professional foul I've seen in ages - Arbeloa just resigned to sticking his leg out to trip the dude over.

EDIT - Ramos doing an amazing Steven Taylor impression in the box and getting away with it, somehow. Should have been a pen.

Madrid refuse to lose lol, another win.

Think the one maybe two penalties Betis didn't get had something to do with it as well ;)

The other week I think it was Pique who was clearly the last man and hauled a guy down and no foul was given. Both teams benefit from the big-club-makes-refs-choke thing. Also Kaka's one in the box was possibly a penalty for Real which wasn't given (although my stream wasn't in high enough definition to see completely clearly).

I'm assuming you mean when Pique was the last man down, clearly hauled the guy down......... and got a red card? Because that is actually what happened.

Yes both teams get a lot, but your point was Real win games like this by finding a way to win which is why they are in the lead, it might be fairer to say they win games like these because of very very lucky ref decisions. Barca have had more than their share of luck as well over the past few years.

Spanish press is hilarious, whenever Barca are in the lead the "barca" papers are quiet and the Real papers are screaming murder over decisions they get. When Real are in the lead their press is silent and Barca papers are screaming murder over decisions going Real's way... meanwhile everyone else in the country who supports every other team is just constantly screaming murder over the treatment Real/Barca get :p

Wasn't the one last week, was a couple of weeks back, can't remember which game though, I just remember reading the commentary and them saying how lucky he was. Probably happens quite a lot given their style of play.

Racing are relegation material in the bottom three so not surprising.

Messi's goals were essentially identical to Ronaldo's last night, a tap in and a penalty (which Fabregas won), nothing fancy. Level with the guy on goals scored now as well. For once it looks like the golden boot won't be the only prize Ronaldo gets this season.

Spot on DM. The sports press in spain is cringe worthy at best.

Can't believe Messi has hit 50 goals already ffs. His consistency in performance is what makes him stand out in history. Balon D'or 3 seasons in a row, 50 goals 2 season in a row, mind boggling.
