Spanish Grand Prix 2010, Circuit de Catalunya - Race 5/19

Button blaming Schumacher. I think he should blame himself. Lewis would have overtook without question and if Schumacher had a fast car, he would have left him sitting.

Feel a bit sorry for Hamilton, but only a bit :-)

Webber deserved to win no question about that...also grats to alguersuari on his top 10 finish.

I think Schumacher also deserves a mention too, he held off what was a clearly faster car and the current world champ piloting it too.
Yes he wasnt going "that" fast but to block Jenson for an entire race deserves a bit of credit i reckon.

Code:
1	McLaren-Mercedes	119
2	Ferrari 116
3	Red Bull-Renault	113
4	Mercedes GP 72
5	Renault 50
6	Force India-Mercedes	24
7	Williams-Cosworth	8
8	Toro Rosso-Ferrari	3
9	BMW Sauber-Ferrari	0
10	Lotus-Cosworth 0
11	Hispania-Cosworth	0
12	Virgin-Cosworth 0

Nice to see Force India up there in 6th with 24 points

What's your point?

The amount of effort Hamilton has put into his driving this season so far does not reflect in the results at this point.

I.e. if you were not following the races but just the results of the season and looked at that results line up as a snapshot you would not be overly impressed to see a world class driver such as Hamilton only drawing level with another driver who by most peoples opinions is a mediocre or less than mediocre driver.

If it was a new driver in MS's place, I would agree. However, given that MS is the most accompished driver ever to have driven an F1 car, today' performance by him wasnt particularly great, but wasn't bad either.

Why do people on here call Alonso Fred? That's not in his name anywhere as far as i can see.

It's like calling Lewis Leon or Leroy instead - just plain weird.

Its nothing more than a mickey take. Fernando is the spanish equivalent of Frederick (Fred) - just Fred sounds less exotic. Its from those of us who generally aren't fans.

Hamilton was the only guy who was able to split the RedBulls, on merit. Obviously Alonso got past, but he did this only when Vettel had to slow.

The only reason Hamilton was able to get past was because Redbull botched up Vettels pitstop.

Now obviously Seb's brake failure would have meant that he wouldve conceeded places anyway (but thats not the point were discussing here).

Hamilton's overtake was an opportunistic one rather than one of merit.

He really wouldn't have, plenty of times he has made moves this season up until he caught a driver of a similar pace. He is a good overtaker Lewis, but he really wouldn't have done anything different with the set up they had.

It doesn't matter how aggressive Lewis is, with the drive MS had out of the last corner the start finish straight just wasn't quite long enough.

How does Hamilton end up in 14th instead of unclassified?

Because he crashed with only 2 laps left, he had completed the required percentage of the race distance to be classified and he was still closer to the front than the running cars who were 3 laps back.
