Spanish Grand Prix 2010, Circuit de Catalunya - Race 5/19

Now 10 times in a row pole position has won the race, that must tell them that it's a poor track for overtaking. Great track for a parade but not racing.

We've had some good races of late but only when it rains. F1 needs to sort itself out because people will soon get bored if we have a summer of processional races. I certainly shan't be watching Monaco next week because it's dross at the best of times it's just a shame other races are fallinginto a similar pattern.

Has anyone else changed their opinion of Hamilton this year? Last year I was far from his biggest fan, yet today I found myself willing him on to pass Vettel in the early stages.
I can't think of a specific reason for my change of opinion other than the fact that Button is his team mate and I am a bit of a Button fan, so I find myself supporting McLaren now.

Yes in a negative way, still think he is an amazing driver. But he is no longer a rookie and should be making or tyre and strategy calls.
Not demanding to know why his team made him pit for tyres.
Yes it should be a two way thing, but ultimately it is the driver who knows how much grip there is and their own limits.

I agree about Monaco it is a dire race [moreso than Barcelona imo].As for people getting bored, i remember similar quotes last year and yet here we all are again. :D

From a modern racing point of view , Monaco should have been off the schedule a long time ago , but its the 'money race' so most of the sponsers will be there to see what they are buying.

Easy setup for the teams just shove as much downforce on as possible then have the day off.

I prefer Monaco to Spain - at least the wall catches people out rather than the nanny run off areas.

Hat off to Webber for keeping out of trouble during the race. Alonso did surprisingly well. MS did well as was expected, just a shame about the trouble Rosberg has during the race.

Pretty much agree, I hate monaco. Barca has always been crap, they have far too much data on the place and set up is easy. I don't think they should test anywhere where there will be a gp in the same year.

Rosbergs troubles are just begining now that the car has been and will continue to be altered for MS's loose front end. What will happen is they will push in that direction and Rosberg will either live with it or go back to the old car and not make progress.

I never doubted it would be any different. If MS was a new driver we would be talking about him in heikki terms for being outclassed, 7 world titles though gives him more than a little weight to get the car HIS way.

I like Monaco, I always forgive it for the fact you get no overtaking. As it looks exciting to drive around, has potential for absolute carnage and has such history to it.

I'd remove a lot of tracks from the calendar before considering removing Monaco.

yea because moving a cars wheelbase forward 5mm really competly suits the car to schumacher all you anti schumacher fans completly ignore rosbergs comments saying its a step forward just not as big a step as the other teams.

rosbergs issue was setup imo and nothing more

This year monaco will be even more challenging with the 6 new mobile chicanes aka back markers, todays race was sometimes just plain scary to watch when they were being lapped, all those blind corners at monaco is just gonna make the problem 10x worse, add to that the fact that there's really no where to go to get out the way.
I've a feeling it'll be a very clumsy incident filled race, no infact race weekend.

especially q1, I'm expecting lots of crashes in the whole weekend.

Just caught up with the race. On the replay of Hamiltons accident you can see the wheel go through a pretty serious camber change as soon as he loads it up. My money would be on some kind of hub/wheel bearing failure.

What are you on about, anti MS fans? I've been one of his biggest defenders this year.

You would have to be a complete numpty to not know which direction they are taking the car and who it is going to suit, even if it's at the detriment to Britneys pace.

I've never ever witnessed any team make excuses or protect MS in the way that I have this season. All the questions and talk is about when MS will win again. "Norbert when will you have a car for Michael to win again" etc etc

They never even discuss Rosberg getting the win first. Moving the wheel base was the first step in a series of steps to build the car MS will want.

Anyone that thinks any different clearly doesn't have a clue about MS's biggest strength of the last 20 years. To build the team around him.

MS will get stronger and stronger as the changes he will demand are made.
