What time does the actual qualifying kick off? Not entirely interested in watching the pre show

Well that's not good for the back 4 with the 107% there...

I hope Williams stand by the protest, I dont think FOTA can really give them much right now.

Oh and Heidfeld's fire was "glue resin" catching fire from an exhaust crack. Im with David on his scepticism

I think that gap in FP3 flatters Red Bull. Hamilton was slower in FP3 than FP2, that suggests he was running different tyre or fuel? Does anyone know whether he was running on Hards or something?

Drivers that have not gone faster than that time are:
Glock, D'Ambrosio, Liuzzi and Karthikeyan - Glock being the closest at only 0.3s off the 107% time.

What tyres were those set on though?

As it's based on Q1 times then the tail enders will be softs with the front runner on hards, so they'll probably have a bit of a relative advantage.

Be interesting to see if they are allowed to run even if they don't make it.

So both HRTs well over 1:28 so far.

EDIT: But no-one setting wild times really. Button's only 4 sec ahead.

Was set on the softer tyre. There is a possibility that some in the top 1/3 will need to run the softs.

1:24.7 from Button on the Hards... hmm, I think he'll have to run the softs, but 1:23.9 from Webber, I expect him to rest his laurels on that one.

Yeah, there will need to be a sub-1:23 from one of the RBRs to actually knock anyone out of the race. Which is unlikely, given that they've easily made Q2

The 107% rule is a bit of a waste of time considering the compared times are from cars trying their best vs cars just doing something vaguely quick to get to the next stage.

You just know the Q1 107% time will probably be 1.20.5 or something which would knock out anyone slower than around 1.26
