Spanish Grand Prix 2011, Circuit de Catalunya- Race 5/19

back to the good old days then, sort of.

sounds to me like if a team were protested it would take a long time to sort out.

Saw that this morning, and had to laugh. So they were going to ban them, then changed their mind, but still think that they don't conform to the rules anyway. Ooookay....

In other news, the famously pro-Ferrari FIA have told Ferrari that they can't run their new rear wing any more. It wasn't outright illegal, but it exploited a loophole in the regulations.

The FIA are useless. They are clearly pro-RBR these days anyway.

Surely it's a given that one of, if not all of, the three teams mentioned are going to protest, and then that'll be fun to see if they DQ all but 6 cars :p

It seems the only reason the FIA didn't outright ban it here was that the teams claimed it would be unsafe, not due to changing their minds on the legality, so if they do receive a protest it's a fairly safe bet that they'll rule it illegal and surely then have to DQ the cars using it?

Fia need shooting. Why make a fuss, nwhat theybshould of done is when all teams complained, said ok you can use it thisnrace, but next race it's banned. Giving them a little time on the simulators etc.

Missed both practices yesterday, but kind of up for thisnone.

What? But how can we turn that into a catchy acronym!

Anyway, I'm normally at work every weekend so never been able to watch practice/races live, but I'm here now! I've got the F1 live timing, but what's the best place to watch the practice? Streaming on the iplayer? What's the best way to find that stream?
And does the driver tracker work for practices as well? And where's that?

Sorry for all the questions! :D

deuse (I think?) already gave us Fizzy Drink International Assistance :)

;)

So Virgin are running the old exhaust system(so they said on BBC) a Virgin 1-2 maybe on the cards
if the FIA rule the new engine mapping illegal

More likely to be a Force India 1-2 in that case, maiden F1 victory for Di Resta?! :p

HRT, Force India and Virgin all using 'normal' exhaust setups.

I don't think the top half dozen teams have a standard exhaust layout.

Penalty for Heidfeld for not putting the steering wheel back on after leaving the car? ;)

Well that fire is the end of the blown diffuser concept, surly the FIA will just go urm so that's what happens when you fire the exhaust over the diffuser... FIRE!

Cant complain, it is a clever thing, but typical F1 everyone tries to push it too far and it'll lead to potential danger so it gets banned.

Bring back T-cars! Forgot how annoying it is pretty much loosing someone to a mechanical fault. Didn't the FIA try and put working limits to stop the teams having to stay up all night to repair cars that get totalled before the gp??

Also what's the point in having in having your gearboxes needing to do 5 gp's and being able to have a "joker" to change them at 4?!!?!?! If they cant make a gear box that does 5 then it should break on the 5th! Stupid rule :(
