I'm really starting to miss the old 12 laps qualifying format.

I've always missed it.

I still think they should have 12 laps and chose between doing 4 x 3 lap or 3 x 4 lap stints.

So 1 out-fast-in stint every 15 minutes for 4 x 3 and 1 out-fast-fast-in stint every 20 minutes for 3 x 4.

Williams Yes, Maldonado no because he's a ****ing moron. If they had a decent driver it could have been amazing but instead PM will cause an accident.

If the tank has enough in it for the FIA to measure, there is no reason for LH to lose pole

I dont think they HAVE to make it back to the pits - although Im sure the FIA will do omething if teams start short filling on purpose


Have to say today was the 1st time in several years I have turned off quali before the end - (I got sick of everyone saying X has used up an extra set of the hard tyres, even though I cant see front running teams stopping 4 times at least to use the 3rd set of hard's)

I dont know whether its because Pirelli decided to miss a couple of tyre types out this weekend, or tyes in general - but its too unpredictable, the BBC can go on an on all they like about "its great for the show", but what about all the faithfl watchers who sat through the boriing years , where now its just infathomable to understand
