It does explain a considerable portion of the margin by which he took pole, doesn't it?
I don't think he'll face a penalty, but they could view as unsportsmanlike behaviour.
The only rule I can find is this:
Qualifying is not a practice session so that doesn't apply.
If you remember when the new teams 1st entered, Chandhook was allowed to take part in the race because he has been in 1 practice session i.e qualifying
Just watched Quali, my brain is failing to compute what happened.
If McLaren stopped Hamilton because he was underfueled then they are ******* idiots. McLaren are the reason the fuel rule exists, so they can hardly claim ignorance. Its also impossible to think such a top team could do that by accident.
But then it could be another issue entirely that they don't want to talk about yet.
Qualifying is classed as a practice session.

They are currently the team that consistently mess everything up.
I give up on formula 1 and im not watching the race tomorrow if Hamilton gets stripped of his Pole.
The whole sport is descending into a farce.
Uh, what?
Its a rule. If they broke it they get penalised? How is that in any way Formula 1 'decending into a farse'?

"Whitmarsh said 1.3 litres of fuel were taken out of the car, and that this was enough to get the car back to pits with enough fuel left to provide a sample. "
Therefore what advantage have Hamilton/Mclaren gained?

Its the rules. I don't see how F1 applying its rules can be seen as a farse?
Because they rarely do!
So what should they do if McLaren are found to have underfueled and stopped on track because of it?
