Spanish Grand Prix 2012, Catalunya - Race 5/20

1st get a pen
2nd get paper
3rd write out a contract for Whitmarsh to sod off and to put me in charge as I am also a novice at management but an expert for spouting out rubbish.

Just give it a rest will you

The world against LH

Jenson had a breakdown last race which cost a handful of points, but completely forget about this of course (not to mention Lewis having less fatal mechanical issues last season)

Oh you hypocrite, every year you write a list of if's and buts where Jenson has lost points and when someone else mentions similar you spit the dummy.

They have cost Lewis far more points this year than Jenson and if that stat was reversed as usual you would mention it every 5 minutes.

I've always been a Jenson fan over Lewis but the facts speak for themselves in points lost. Last year is over I'm talking about this year. With Jenson out of the top 10 he had a real chance to bury some points tomorrow and the team blew it for him.

You would think being a Ferrari fan I would want Alonso 1st. Just dont think the car is good enough...

Yep.
From what Alonso said, that car is still way behind the rest. He just happened to have an outstanding lap, which allowed him to get 3rd place. I think a better guide of where the Ferrari actually is in the pecking order is to use Massa's qualifying pace. He qualified in 16th place.

Taking it to the edge or not, poor team performance and mistakes has arguably cost them three races this season, and if not the wins then some considerable points loss. Thats a good way to lose a season, despite having the fastest car on the grid.

Yep.

I'm hoping for a lotus one two! This season has been a long time coming for me. Can't quite believe they have pace! How long ago was it that alonso won with Renault? Good days!

On the Hamilton thing. Seeing as I am not biased in favour I thought it was harsh until I read it is a written rule and it happened to bueimi, there was no other option. Don't blame the stewards, blame the team. It's a rule that keeps the playing field fair. Sucks for Hamilton though, especially using all his tyres. I like his driving style. Girlfriend is going to be ****ed that lotus are starting better than mc! Lol

Finally... Lotus for the championship.. What looks like 2 decent drivers, no quarrels, bit of a douche team boss, but flav was too lol. Must be first time they have had 2 good drivers!
Like kimis attitude, just get on with it. I bet schmacher is jealous. His moaning is starting to bore!

I am gutted I can only see half the races!

Edit. Lol at massa

Agreed. F1 is not racing any more its politics.

Hamilton should tell team McClown where to do when contract time comes to be honest.

He needs to move to a team where he will be outright No.1 and the entire team will be focused around him. Much like how he had it in 2008 and 2009, at McLaren. When he has an equally good driver alongside him, he doesn't work too well. MSc and Alonso are exactly the same, so this is not necessarily a bad trait.

RBR won't let Vettel go.
Merc already have Rosberg.
Ferrari have Alonso.

The only realistic place for him to move to (and have No.1 status) would be to a team like Renault (or Lotus...whatever they are calling themselves these days). Renault can either get rid of Kimi or Grosjean.

Any other team would be a serious step down. So we can include Sauber and Force India.

His options are severely limited and his chances of winning another World Title seem to lie best with McLaren. After all, at present, McLaren do have the best car...why would you want to move away from the best car?

I think that a maximum penalty of erasing Hamilton's Q3 times should have been applied here. He did nothing wrong prior to Q3 and got pole by (almost) 6 tenths of a second, which is much more than the time loss of carrying an extra 1 lap of fuel.
Martin Brundle on Twitter said:
Suspect clear cut stewards decision on HAM re regulations but feel they should have deleted that lap time only which would have put him 6th
I also agree that this rule should apply to the race as well as qualifying, as that is where the points are awarded, therefore it is more important than qualifying.
Unfortunately we must accept this and move on.

I was under the impression Jensen's car was fine to finish but they knew he had to change something that would have caused a grid place penalty for changing at the next race.

IE if the car pulls out of the race due to gearbox failure, they can put a new gearbox in for the next race without getting a 5 grid penalty for doing it AT the next race.

It's basically cheating, they decided it was better to give up a couple of points(due to a poor performance mostly) from Jenson, than to get a few points and a penalty at the next race.

Hamilton got his gearbox penalty without a loophole to exploit.

Had McClown not screwed up Hamilton's pits, the gap would simply be MUCH bigger than it is now and Hamilton would be leading the championship.

This week, McClown screw up again and cost Hamilton a very good chance at a win, half second fast, even if people are going easy on their tyres half a second is still huge, with his main competitors all quite far back, it was likely to be nothing but a great weekend.

Don't forget, he's now in dirty air from the back with less tyres than Webber, Button and Vettel.

He can still have a half decent race, he's a good starter and theres a lot of slow cars around him, it's pure luck from that far back though, everyone infront goes a certain way and theres a gap for him to jump down, or they could all get in his way and he could be 24th still after a few corners.

At least we'll have one car overtaking this weekend though ;) Unless of course he takes himself off the track while driving to aggressively.

Mcidiots need to fire a few people, their tactical guys are awful, their pitting decisions are awful, their weather/tyre guys are horrible, and whoever is supposed to go around and make sure everyone knows EXACTLY what is going on like how much fuel to put in, he needs a beating then to be fired.

FIA are morons also, I can't see how anything less than bottom of Q3 is "fair", how many times have people stopped but for different reasons, less honestly and aren't subject to the same tests, how many times has that happened recently for a race. Didn't Vettel stop at the end of the pits rather than do a lap, why isn't that punished but quali is, all ridiculous.

They may as well bring back Luca Badoer for all the good Massa is at the moment!

Badoer was woeful.
Was he not driving around 2s/lap slower than his team-mate (Kimi), at Spa?

In the 2 races he took part in, his team-mate won finished 1st and 3rd, while Badoer was one of the slowest on track.

And when he was asked about it, he said that Ferrari management had told him that he was doing a fine job and was on target.

Massa isn't as bad as some people make him out to be. It's just that Alonso is now at the peak of his powers and is likely to make almost any driver, look poor. What'll be interesting is if/when Massa is replaced, how the replacement driver fairs.

But in his defence Fisichella was little better proceeding him without the 10yr gap in racing experience. Its just that 2009 Ferrari makes this seasons look great! And shows just how much of a sterling job Kimi was doing with it.
Edit - Fisichella's results are not to dissimilar to Massa's current form!
