Spanish Grand Prix 2012, Catalunya - Race 5/20

Your view seems different about the Sky coverage than others.

But, I haven't watched it and never intend to either so I can only go on what you lot say :p

As for the tyre, I'd like to know too! Might tweet that pic and see if the BBC picks up on it.

The F1 forum would be interested. I'm sure the team/FIA have already picked it up from tyre counts etc

I think peoples biggest problem is the charge to view sky sports f1. I was happy enough to reactivate my HD subscription as im not a avid sports fan apoart from motorsport.

I did tweet the f1 team and was going to watch the after show to see if they pick up on it but ive taken over the tv enough today!!

Well I have to agree.

Why should I pay £300+ over just the TV license just to get equal coverage? (I only watch the race days + build up and build down).

So if the coverage is the same during these periods and some people say it is worse then it isn't 'worth' it.

£300 could get me a decent ticket to Silverstone. I'd rather do that tbh.

Sky Sports f1 channel is far better. Better presenting, better analysis and basically better all round!! Damon Hills a bit dodgy at times but presenting isn't his forte.

Couldn't disagree more to be honest, Sky coverage has been atrocious.

It's supposed to be more professional and technical but when ever they have had the opportunity to do real technical analysis they have completely underwhelmed.

The only good parts are Anthony Davidson's analysis and Ted Kravitz at everything.

I think they are really close.

It's impossible to tell without them driving the same equipment, but for me last season Vettel did a great job with him and the team being consistent and leading from the front in the best car.

Last year Hamilton imploded, entirely his own fault and I won't make excuses for that.

This season, Hamilton is clearly in a better head space and the McLaren car is one of, if not the fastest on the grid.

However, he's being let down by his team. If it hadn't been for that, Hamilton would be 'doing a Vettel' and running away with this season.
I dont think its close, Vettel outside of the last two seasons has improving year by year while Hamiltons done anything but. He may have found some form this season, and I agree he is doing well, but its all relative and theres nothing to believe it still wont lead to a season of fits and starts...

I dont think its particularly remarkable to keep your head straight for racing, it should be a given and an expectation, not a desirable or even a plus. For the fact it needs to be mentioned more than just a caveat, is damning in itself...

The results this season just concrete that opinion, its not like the Red Bull is considered a better package than the McLaren and aside from McLaren mistakes its not like Vettel has had major luck to be leading the championship, nor has he had an easier ride securing those points...

To consider todays Hamilton anywhere near the best in F1 is an over-estimation, hes still got far to go and more likely to be further behind with people like Kimi on the grid...

ps3ud0

I'll give you Ted, but Davidson's 'analysis' consists of pointing to a 3D render of the car which does nothing to illustrate the point he's trying to make (and Georgie's ass keeps getting in the way).

The BBC might not have the budget to do the fancy graphics, but at least they would draw a picture on a beer mat or use a paper-weight to highlight what they were saying. :p

Do you honestly think Vettel would have done a better job in the same position today? Because I just don't see it.

Also, I said I wouldn't excuse Hamilton's poor performance last season so I fail to see your point there.

I'm intrigued as to what they make of Schumi vs Senna. I feel that Senna was slower into the braking zone than MSC expected, he flicked across to get inside of Senna, possibly to take him round the outside of Turn 2, but he was too close and too late. Plus I reckon Senna did twitch to the right which made matters worse. Racing incident?

I agree. Schumi just to close before flicking out left and as he done so Sena braked resulting in heavy contact!!

It should go down as a racing incident as it's a bit like when Mark took off over the back of Hekki at Valencia, too big a difference in closing speeds and not quite enough common sense from either driver...
