Spanish Grand Prix 2016, Catalunya - Race 5/21

Ok, based on those screen shots and the sporting regulation, I stand corrected - Roaberg shouldn't have closed the door like that.

However, I still don't think Lewis should have tried to go on the inside so aggressively.

The thing is if rosberg had the skills he would've just let Hamilton hack up the inside and outbreak himself and take the place back in the next corner. Alonso pulls that move loads and quite effectively.

Unless Rosberg starts having problems this season, I think Hamilton can write off this season unfortunately...

Are you mad?? Two DNF from Rosberg and two wins from Hamilton and he has the lead.

It's far too early to write anything off. If there were 5 races left I would agree with you, but now??

If Rosberg gets a penalty for the next race (which he should) then Hamilton will start pulling back points already and a Rosberg DNF becomes all the more likely fighting through the field.

I didn't see that post, that answers my question about the Kimi / Carlos question

I'm not trying to be a ****. Sorry if I came across that way. But F1 is full of people who will argue forever about regulations that they havent read or that dont exist, and it bugs me.

The flexible wing stuff was another example. Even mainstream media started talking about rules that simply didn't exist.

The irony that 27.7 was written because of Rosberg is quite funny.

Multiple times, you reap what you sow. The rest of the ****s think they have to get mega aggressive in return as the only option. Once a wheel is alongside you should never be able to close the gap regardless, I have argued that for years that modern F1 drivers feel so secure in their tubs that they think that's acceptable. Senna and Schumacher led the way and the others follow, Hamilton included.

Running someone wide on the exit of a corner is different to running someone off the track down a straight. As far as I can remember Hamilton has rub people wide in corners but not run someone off down a straight.

Apart from car choice that's because Alonso is blessed with an IQ higher than 5. Hamilton and Rosberg on the other hand probably had too many days out of school for term time holidays...

Overtaking is tough on this circuit, he had a great run out of turn 3, he had to go for it.

Exactly. This isn't taking a wide exit on a corner to get onto the racing line.

This is Rosberg going off the racing line on a straight to prevent Hamilton passing him, except he was too late to move and had already taken a position to teh left, right before the braking zone.

Yea...'clear cut'...how many milliseconds are between those pictures.

When Rosberg started moving over Hamilton was behind him.

Have to ask ourselves, any other driving in Hamilton's position. Would they have done anything different with that massive overspeed on Roosberg. I don't think they would.

Wasn't there something similar, (Schumacher was it?) on the main straight where someone was almost run into the concrete barrier?

While it's a shame for cars to crash out (for the record, Rosberg's fault in my eyes :p) can't say I'm too bothered, more exciting without the Mercs and the drama it has created! :o :D
