Spanish Grand Prix 2016, Catalunya - Race 5/21

Its certainly a deliberate move so any claims from Rosberg that he "didn't know he was there" will be a flat lie.

Absolutely, he moved to block the overtake for sure.

I don't think Hammy was alongside when he started the move though, and the rest happened in milliseconds, so a racing incident imo, but if we have to apportion blame...i'm not 100% sure

That gif just proves to me that is Hamilton's fault. He wasn't "alongside" Rosberg until he was on grass.
I think it will be decided as driving incident with Merc dealing with it internally.

Exactly, the only reason rosberg would take that line is if he is trying to stop someone overtaking otherwise he'd been to the left like every other car behind him in the videos.

Definite "alongside".

Hint: there is a right answer

The way it looks to me, the more i watch it.
Lewis had already committed to the move with huge speed differential whist there was still a more than a cars width of space, when rosberg realises this he closes the gap further, by that point it was too late and lewis had his nose in there, aggressive move but perfectly reasonable, what wasnt reasonable was the **** move by Nico, not unexpected though, just glad he got caught up in it too.

I disagree, I see Rosberg moving across and then Lewis realising and backs off but it's too late by then. The speed of Lewis must be taken into account, when Rosberg moved over Lewis had absolutely nowhere to go. Had he tried switch to the left he would have hit Rosberg and would have been given sole blame for the incident.

If Hamilton was far enough along side that he would have hit Rosberg then Rosberg shouldn't have carried on moving over as he did. Rosberg did though so surely falls foul of the rule quoted earlier in the thread.

Agree about the speed and commitment however I disagree that it was reasonable by Rosberg. He had already moved to the left on to the braking line, he then moved again to block Lewis. Not only is it unreasonable it's in breach of the rules.

So can Max get 31 laps from those Mediums? Really doubt it.

I think RBR have screwed Max here and gifted Ferrari 2nd, and maybe even 3rd.
