I'd suggest someone with a bit of power round here, not sure who is of negotiable morals though although that may depend on how big the envelope is - A5 or bigger and you've got a better chance.

£1,500 seems like a bit of a nasty bill to be walking into, it might be perfectly fair in terms of costs but it's still likely to sting a bit when unexpected.

I know enough to have an opinion on the matter (be it right or wrong) and not enough to be able to giving an accurate estimate of the damage to the nearest penny.

Yes, it is the same old story. I speak my mind and then have to defend myself against people who take the internet far too seriously when they decide to pick fault with it. Stop taking each and every word I say so damn literally and LET IT GO.
 
I think it will comfortably run into four figures for a proper full on repair job, with the first number possibly being as high as a 3 if you went for a brand new door! :)

the cost ultimately depends on the extent he wants to go to, and who he chooses.

I went to a backstreet bodyshop and get very reasonable cash rates. You can quite easily pay £1000 to have one panel resprayed, if you want it taken off, properly colour matched, properly rolled out to perfection etc..

If however you're happy to have it filled, and resprayed still on the car to reduce cost, you can spend less than half that.

What about making Mark and Will Gill and Housey as mods of motors? :D Would probably have to give Fox 30mins a day of Mods rights to unban himself and clear up the mess though! :p
