Well thats the way life goes, tell me if you were worth a fortune would you see your daughter drive a shed?

Personally, i would like to teach my kids the value of money and that a grand doesn't come for free. But i get your point wholeheartedly, but not to the extent of a very expensive sports car! :p

Seeing curbed rims on a 30+ grand car leads me to believe she doesn't care for it as much as she should. Maybe that's just me being a guy and we love our rims a hell of a lot more than girls and women do. My sister got a brand new Ford Ka when she passed her test and she doesn't look after it at all, she'd be lucky to get a grand for it now.

Back to the topic at hand, it's going to be a very expensive job!

Reversed into a poxy 205 in a car park a few years back and cost £1000 through the insurance. I got a company to quote the repair at £250, but the miserable wench wanted to go through the insurance. Wish id driven off now without doing the decent thing and leaving my details.

I think the answer is in the 'she' part of your post. My missus has kerbed so many wheels since we've been together that I am past worrying about it. She just doesn't get to drive my car. ;)

show me any female who manages to keep the alloys un kerbed on their car and i'll show you a transvestite :p

And to be honest its not a "care" thing. I refurbed my wheels - twice. And still managed to kerb them despite being mindful of kerbs everytime i parked. My problem is that i'm slightly OCD about parking, and can't just park 3 foot from the kerb and stick out from everybody else as it drives me mad. I then try and push in closer and then *crunch* the inevitable happens :(

To be fair, too much of it reeks of sour grapes. Some parents like to buy their children cars and the like. So what? It doesn't matter to me, and i'm not sure Mark would care if it did.

Yeah the nerve of some people! getting driven into through no fault of their own and wanting their car repaired through the proper channels? what a ****!
You definately should have driven off, that'll teach them! they'll certainly think twice about having their car crashed into in future...

Don't be a ****. At the end of the day people should be content with having their cars repaired back to the standard before the accident, regardless if it was done through insurance or done through the back door.

Doing things through the 'Proper channels' ends up with both parties getting screwed by higher renewal quotes all so a select few people in the bodyshop and/or insurance company can profit.

*Waits for the Joshy fanclub to give me an ethics lesson*.

Can I just clarify - you beleive people should be 'content' with having damage repaired 'out of insurance' at a bodyshop that isn't of the victims choosing?
