Spec me a dehumidifier please?

I don't know whether they'll be any good or not but Lidl are getting these in on the 27th. They don't look as nifty as the Meaco ones but they are reasonably cheap & come with a 3 year warranty.

Is it any good? I didn't bother, good price but higher energy use for a small unit and I'm holding out for the 20l meaco still, no compromises.
John Lewis had them in stock again earlier but for all of 5 mintues as usual!

In terms of the one from Lidl, I really can't fault it other than it not being particularly quiet. It dropped the humidity in the main bedroom where we were having issues with damp and mold from 65% to 55% in a couple of hours without any trouble. I've now got it setup in the kitchen in front of some washing and it's definitely helped heavier things like jeans and hoodies dry that much quicker than when I just had the trickle vents in the patio doors open for ventilation. As for power consumption, it's rated at 245W @ 90% room humidity but right now where the humidity is only 59%, the entire house is only pulling 345W currently according to the IHD so it's pretty energy efficient.

The Meaco ABC 10L in stock at John Lewis at time of posting if anyone's interested.

It’s an excellent unit, especially coming from a desiccant unit (which is more suited to my gym where it’s much colder). Very quiet and powerful for its size/price. I’ve placed it on the main landing between all bedrooms, although I’ll need to move it into the main bedroom for a bit later. Seems to use very little energy vs the desiccant dehumidifier. It’s already whacked the humidity down from high 80s to mid 60s in a couple of hours.

I'm making do with windows open throughout the house. Better results than the desiccant dehumidifier and about the same price with the extra heating.
Will get the ABC 20l when they are readily available for next year.

The 25L is currently in stock in JL.

I assume humidity at 74% is far too high? Bought a couple cheap meters and that’s roughly what the house is sitting at.
Guess I best join the hordes trying to get a dehumidifier!

Ours was sat in the high 80s. I’ve never known such a damp year. The house has been fine for a couple of winters without the previous dehumidifier that I relocated. At least it’s back into the 60s now and falling.

We have the meaco being posted, on its second winter, I set it to 60 low fan speed and leave it to do its thing and it's great. Switch off at night though.

For drying clothes on a maiden if you put it close to the clothes on high fan speed in a small room it'll dry them in a day, I don't bother anymore though I just leave it be keeping the house at a max of 60 on the landing between the bedrooms and not far from bathroom

Now also after the Meaco ABC 10L as I've noticed small amounts of mould accumulating in the bedroom window, and we always dry our clothes in front of that since we're in a flat. Nothing some mould spray and gentle scrubbing can't tackle.

Our average humidity levels are 50-60% in the bedroom, however they climb to about 65% on washing days as the missus leaves clothes on the rack for a good 12hrs. The airflow in this place when windows are open isn't the best so we certainly need something to bring levels down.

A friend has the Meaco Arete 20L and says that within 30 mins of it being on the condensation on the windows already starts to disappear and within 45-60 mins it's dropped the humidity significantly. So it seems Meaco are a good brand. Lots power usage too apparently.
