Spec me a dehumidifier please?

Whole house is sat at around 55-60% now (down from 88-90%), which seems to be the sweet spot where the unit comes on a a lot less. I leave it in the main bedroom in the day and on the landing at night. Would definitely buy a Meaco unit again. Very little energy use too.

I think the house would need to be warmer for a compressor unit to get it into the 40s effectively.

Plan for ours is to sit on the landing just outside the shower. Currently the humidity is sitting at 65% which is about as good as it gets, usually it's a lot higher.

With the windows open on the catch in the living room, kitchen, master bedroom and bathroom our house is down at 52% 18c.

Debating whether a dehumidifier is even worth it.

My humidity is down naturally as well. I think it must have been something to do with the weather in October/November, and the colder temperatures now have reduced the relative humidity of the outdoor air so naturally that is having an impact on the inside of my house too.

Stuck my trusty Lidl unit in the bathroom straight after having a shower & it was reading 83% humidity. 15 minutes later & it was down to 66% and the wall tiles are bone dry. It normally takes the piddly extractor fan at least an hour to do the same!

The Meaco arrived earlier and it’s already impressed. The box and item is smaller than I thought and it isn’t too heavy. Annoyingly castors are extra but that’s not a major deal as it’ll live mostly in the bedroom.

In a bedroom that had 62.5% humidity at 11:50, I let it run for 1hr and it reduced that to 55.7%.

I let it run for a further hour and it reduced humidity level to 52.4%.

Imgur is being crap on mobile so I can’t put up graphs yet. True test will be tomorrow when the missus does the washing and dries it here.

Yeah mine turned up this afternoon, currently sitting on the landing cranking away, already dropped the humidity a few %.
Will be interesting to see if the windows are clear of condensation in the morning.

What do you use to record the humidity data?

First night running with the Meaco, turned it on when it arrived yesterday afternoon and it went off about 7am with the 8 L container full of water!
Early days but zero condensation on any window in the house this morning.

Yep, quite a bit cheaper!
I have these also, and it's worth keeping an eye on the Govee website as they're often cheaper than Amazon. :)
Bang on thank you. Not as cheap as the Amazon offer I had but I might grab 3 and then it's roughly on par.

The Meaco 10L has been really impressive. All condensation gone, no mould regrowth, bathrooms drying out quickly, humidity hovering around 60% with little water collected now and the unit switching off much of the time. It doesn’t even need to be on overnight anymore. Was wondering whether I should have waited to get a bigger unit, but glad I didn’t.

Bought one of these for every room which has been a great way to target the heating and humidity in each area.
