Spec me a dehumidifier please?

Another vote for a meaco arete.. we have a 12l and could do with a bigger one really as our upstairs room is a large volume. 12L is good for a smaller room which I close up with the washing in

It's been on 24 hours a day since we got it and already pulled 2 full tanks of water out of the air set to the default 55%.
On the 31st it used 3.1kwh.
Yesterday it used 2.7 kWh.

So it's using about half what the old Ecoair used to and seems to be doing a better job as well.

A reminder that usually (for Meaco at least) using the HEPA filter reduces the amount of water it can take up + increases electricity usage slightly

Yep didn't even fit mine.

Mines settled to about 2kwh per day now to maintain the house at 55%.

Will have to try with and without filter. Main reason I got it was to help clothes dry quicker and there’s some mould around the windows on the house we got. In all fairness the double glazing does replacing but £215 is more palatable than a few thousand right now.

I've looked at the Meaco Arete as that seems popular here; what makes it better than the rest?

I was hoping to spend about £100 on a dehumidifier, will I get anything decent for that? Main reason is to dry clothes and keep the bathroom dry (new build without a window).

After all this time Meaco still seem to struggle to keep these in stock.
I'd like to buy a 20l model, but i don't fancy paying the inflated prices from the shops with stock.

Just bought a little one from amazon to do the clothes drying as its so wet outdoors now I can't find a break in the weather to put them out.

My house is full of house plants so need high humidity, so it'll only be used in the utility room.

It compares well with an Ebac unit but it's a fair bit cheaper so that's why I chose the Arete.

From reading the Ebacs adapt better though.

For instance my Arete is set to 55% and during the day the bedrooms stay around that. But during the night it climbs to around 60% I believe the Ebac would learn this and start up ahead of time and bring it down to 50% so it peaks at 55%.
I didn't want to pay and extra £100+ for that though, as it gets to freezing temps I'll set it to 50 or 45%.

You should be good to have them repair it under the 5 year warranty. I did have to deal with Meaco recently, going through the hoops (all sorts of pics etc, then they wanted it for repair, sent it back and it still had the issue and after that they sent a new one)
