Spec me a fun 2+2

I'm going round in circles here. Was set on an M2, but now the sun's come out it would be a shame not to get a convertible....
Would a non-comp F83 M4 Cab be worth a punt, or is Comp the only way to go?

I always feel like a M car is wasted on a cab. Just get a 440i with a nice exhaust and save a bucket load of cash.

To be honest, I sometimes wonder whether that's true of M cars in general, for the average driver for road use. I know that's probably heresy, but I wonder whether a true M car would be wasted on my commutes and gentle weekend pootles.

It's why my Exige's stablemate is a 1.4 auto Golf.

get an fd2 civic type R!

epic to drive, 4 seats, iso fix, decent boot.. 2.0 k20, lsd, good gearbox and car is loud, connected and just fun all around. - not sure if they're hard to find in belgium but something not a lot of people consider.

is it fast? not really, but it is fast if you can drive it properly, is it fun ? yes and I'd rather have fun at 60 than fun at 120 ;)

Going to look at another one tomorrow, but private seller with unrealistic price expectations. I've overpaid a few times for my cars and I'm determined not to do it again. I know what I think it's worth and I'll walk if he won't budge.

However, there's a (almost) poverty-spec non-comp M4 Cab for sale in the German dealer network which isn't selling (6+ months). Maybe I can lowball. Grey with red but no HUD, neck scarf, etc..

Honestly what put me off an M4 is the birmingham/bradford image

Update: I can see why the M2 LCI pre-OPF is the sweet spot. Manual is a bit sloppy and see why @DRZ said not to bother.
I put in an offer which I thought was more than reasonable, he needs to sleep on it. Then I noticed the diff is weeping :(
I see that this is a common issue, but rather labour intensive.
Also the rear strut dust boots are crusty, but it's from 2017 so that's expected.

M4 would be complete overkill, and this one is literally just down the road so let's wait and see..
