That may be true Surveyor however I am feeling that Kingston is somehow better than Foxcon. Its just a hunch.

If you're happy to base your "green" claims on a hunch then so be it.

Based on the facts it seems to me that your PC is no greener than that of anyone else who has a similar system.

I wouldn't base too much on the ISO 14001, its pretty much standard for most businesses these days, the company I work for acquired 14001 status a few years ago, all we had to do was setup a re-cycling system to get it and we are a million miles away from being a 'green' company.

You should be looking at other things rather than tags a business has and what power consumption their parts use, for example buying from someone that actively supports rainforest trusts etc... would make more of an impact than your machine saving the odd watt.

Fantastic point made pgi... That brings me to start up a thread where all those good detectives from this forum could show off their amazing inquisitor skills tracking most eco companies at moment.

BTW do you know any company in PC market that supports rainforest trust?

Wouldn't the "greenest" way to build a PC be to use second hand components? That way you can take the moral high ground via proxy - you could claim to be using a "recycled computer". Build yourself a case from wood harvested from a sustainable forest for extra "eco" credit.

+1 to second hand. To be even greener buy parts locally to reduce or even cut out completely the delivery distance.

Not sure, but I'm sure any trusts or charitable organisation would list any 'partners' they have on their web page.

Or just Googling "*Company name* Charity"

For example Samsung appear to have localised charity work for some cancer charities etc...

Also agree with above posters about used parts for local pickup, try something like your local gumtree, though watch out for all the 'Nigerian Princes' lol.

Edit: Princes Rainforest Trust corporate partners page for example: http://www.rainforestsos.org/partners/corporate-partners/

I'd only bother with a DG if you're going to use a headphones/headsets. The built in amp is great for that use.

Make sure you underclock your cpu and gpu to be super green and to de solder any led's which are on board to maximize your greeness.

Also set fan speeeds to very low and maybe remove the psu fan as you wont need that as the power drawn from it will be so green it wont even be classed as a single amp.

Wont be using headphones at all so can give this sound card a miss. However people say that onboard sound of z77 ud3h is really bad even worse than onboard sound of z77 ud5h.

Vinni3 @H|H Dont need that hat. I am naturally green.

4.8 but I kept all the energy saving features on even tho they recommend not to it seams a waste of electricity. My pc is fast and green
