Spec me an LED Torch

Well the cree xml is now out and about, and it looks very promising, better efficiency than the xpg, around 420 lumens at the same current iirc.

Just google this anyway

Ultrafire 501B Cree XML T6

I have a Surefire G2 sitting in my draw un-used. I bought it on here but have since bought a Quark AA 2 Turbo. I have been told I cannot sell it on here, can you sell on candlepowerforums? (I dont like using ebay due to fees)

I use an AA Maglite with triple LED lights installed. Its superb for working on aircraft as lights up quite a wide area and is very bright... The range is not the best but for £15 all in its superb.

No way. Thats mad. What you got?

I have, in no particular order:-

4Sevens Maelstrom G5, Quark 1232 Ti, Quark AA Ti, Quark AA2, Quark 123, Quark 1232 Turbo, Mini AA2, Mini AA, Preon II
Fenix TA30, Fenix TK15, Fenix E01
MG P-Rocket XP-G, PLI, L-Mini II
Romisen RC-N3 II (x2), RC-A4,
Akoray K-106 (x2), K-109
ShiningBeam S-mini
ITP A3

That's only 23 but I have others that I can't remember off the top of my head. I've had upto 50 but had a clearout of the one I didn't like.

anything around better for me than my quite old fenix L2D,
110 lumins - 4 hours.
2xAA.
textured reflector for a wide spill for cycling.

something around £50? or just stick with my fenix?

Guys, I'm hoping someone can help me out, rather than start a new thread I thought I'd just tag on to the end of this one - I've just started playing around with light graffiti, see this guys work for an example:

So far I have managed to find a LED Lenser V24 which is cool but I need something that I can draw vivid lines // shapes etc with without the lines being too wide, anyone got any ideas what would be a good choice for this? (the coloured gels are no problem)

So far I've been looking at the LED Lenser range (though they all seem to have too large a beam), Fenix and Inova.

Anyone do this or have any ideas as to what would be ideal? I'm guessing the trick is the size of the LED not the beam itself.

Thanks

Does it have to run on AA batteries?

You can focus the beam to be very narrow.

The other thing would be to get a light with a VERY narrow head - something like an AAA light:-

Just mask off the front of your current torch using some kitchen foil with a hole in the centre.

WHERE ARE THOSE BEAM SHOTS HUH??!

Anyway, the pocket one arrived today, damn fast shipping from China! My dad is so impressed he wants to order 2.

For its size it has a nice weight to it as well.

Not that fond of the pouch though, feels like a sack but it will do for the glovebox :p

i just bought (direct from Solarforce) an L2 body (empty) and the newly released Solarforce XM-L T6 (single-mode) P60-dropin.

this bad-boy should be good for 860 lumens otf :D

only came to £22.60 shipped, which was nice!

Beamshots (of the moon!) will be taken when it arrives.
