Spec me an LED Torch

Not bad for £12, just been excellent working on my bike in the dark.
It's quite light on the head also.

Got a cheap LED inspection light for keeping in the Car. 9 SMD's powered by 3 AA's and the light this thing puts out is unreal. Can't complain for £4.50.

I finally received my BLF A6 this morning. Overall I'm just happy with it, it'd be false to say I was surprised or that it exceeded my expectations though.

Compare to my V-Shark VS-X2 XM-L, the BLF A6 has a medium sized bright spot with a duller area which is almost as wide of the V-Shark. In the bright spot, I'd say it's slightly brighter than the V-Shark - if I shine them together, the BLF A6 definitely overpowers the V-Shark in the centre, but then the V-Shark overpowers the BLF A6 outside the centre.

I was taken aback by how small the torch is compared to my V-Shark. But that's why I bought it. It'd be nice if it was zoomable, but that's not a major issue.

I managed to unscrew the head from the body of the torch, but I couldn't get inside the lens head like my old torch. Is there some sort of tool you need to unscrew this? I imagine you also use the same tool to unscrew the button so you can access the circuitry that allows you to modify the firmware.

Overall, the BLF A6 is an okay torch, but it's only bright in the centre of the beam. If you want a bright and wide beam, forget this torch.

Where are people getting reliable batteries from?, I'm only getting 2 1/2 - 3 hours from the 3800mah no name batteries that came with my head lamp.

I got my Cree Xm-l T6 a week or so ago and was really impressed, not been a 'torch guy' before now so although it's a basic torch to some it is very good for what I need it for.

3,800 mAh batteries don't exist, god knows how low their real capacity is...

You're just jealous of his eBay score :p

I think they're around 1500-1800mah, I can run them down and my .5a charger will get them full again overnight.

I tested a few almost all of them came out at 700-900 mah.

My mate was well disappointed when I showed his 6000mah was 780mah.

What tool do you need to unscrew the head from the BLF-A6 to access the chip? I'm tried a pair of tweezers which worked for the button, but ended up bending them on the head. :o

Daft question, how can i test them? Got a couple of multimeter's to hand.

Ordered a pair of the Panasonic cells.
