spec me

Dual for Z270.

So if you fit a quad channel kit (which is just four matching RAM sticks) it will be 2 sticks per channel (A+B)

X99 has four RAM channels so can make proper use of a quad RAM kit (it can also work in dual or single mode).

Over the ASUS sure, £20 for an extra 1yr and higher claimed speeds.

I say "claimed" as the way GPUboost works in these new cards you may find it exceeds those rated speeds because the cooler is so good and the PCB so good at delivering power that it will automatically run beyond the rated speed because it has extra headroom to do so.

what makes for a good psu

EVGA, Super Flower or Seasonic Gold or Platinum rated, you can't go wrong. You don't need more than 650W. It will mostly come down to quality of components, capacitors etc. used in their construction, also length warranty is a good indicator. The Platinum rated ones will tend to be the best, hence the higher price, but it's not like you're taking a risk with a Gold rated if that's more within your budget. Just get one of the above brands and you're good to go.

thanks I'm trying to find 1 around the £85 mark if possible, what about connections, will they all have the required connections I need

That Superflower HX750 for £86.99 is a goo PSU and yeah they have all the cables you need.

You will have plenty of cables/connectors left over for the future.

Not really as you have to use the 24pin and 8pin ATX to connect to the board.

Some of the cases such as the Phanteks have a cover to hide the PSU and any cables that you dont use.

Its a very nice PSU made by superflower.

but 650W is between 550W and 750W.

You only need 550W (even 450W is enough) for a single card or 750W for SLI.
