I have been driving along that particular road for years. I have always travelled at the same speed (around 45 to 46) because I always thought that the police didn't prosecute at that speed.
Oh well, you live and you learn don't you?

Obviously they've changed the camera detection speed- to try and get more revenue for the policemans ball - ffs
Perhaps, but they didn't force you to speed did they? You got caught out, it happens. I've been caught out and yes it's bloody annoying, but I decided to go over the limit and I only had myself to blame when I got caught.

As for the person who's mum got a ticket doing 32 in a 30 zone.... i bet she just paid it and never questioned it.... i would have questioned it
Questioned what? It was a very narrow margin indeed and it's bloody pathetic that 2mph over the limit is tedious, but it's still technically speeding and one of those things.

Plus it's against human rights for the police to ask us to name who the driver of the car is.... in fact there's a case going through the european court right now, and if it goes through.... bang goes that system.
No it isn't but what human rights do you think it's invalidating?
What case?

I think most of you are unaware of what human rights are all about.... yeah yeah stand on your box... but you guys are all sheep ... baaahhhhhhaaa
Actually I believe it's you who misunderstands what human rights are and how they will be affected in a situation like this.
Who are the sheep exactly? What are we all following?

I just thought it would have been a nice topic. I think the police are too over zealous. What ever happened to a ticking over? More and more people are starting to dislike the police for reasons like this. Plus all the police I personally know all speed. In fact they all think ( the ones I know ) they're above the law.
...and you think you're above the law by trying to get out of the punishment for breaking the speed limit. Your logic on that all policemen you know speed is pointless because that is limited to a handful of policemen. I know two coppers, and neither of them speed—as they have to set the right example—however they understand the drivers' plight against inappropriate speed cameras.
It's just one of those things where you just have to take your mistake on the chin. Passing the buck and trying to wiggle out of it, when you don't have a leg to stand on is just going to make you look like a tit and land you in a bigger mess.
I know a chap who got caught doing a very similar speed to you, 38 in a 30. Instead of taking the fine and points like me and all my other friends advised, he disputed it and went to court with some crappy excuse about the camera not having a sign before it (which it clearly did). He lost out completely and ended up paying way more than he was originally fined.
