Spider-Man (PS4)

Not really had trouble with combat on Spectacular, but then I find the Web Blossom suit power is a great opening salvo.

The anti gravity web bomb followed by the web bomb as they fall wipes out 5 or 6 enemies at a time.

;) I'm not sure on that one myself just yet. I liked the reboot for what it was but the last one fell a bit flat for me. I may jump back in on Destiny or maybe look at Divinity 2 next

Divinity 2 is decent. I've been on destiny with the new expansion but think I need a break from it. Tomb raider and fifa should see me to red dead 2.

This has been a welcome break from all of the RTX 2080Ti discussions/gossip. Wasn't sure what to expect but a couple of hours in and I'm liking it a lot.

Was waiting for RDR2 to come out for the PS4 but saw an ad for this and told myself that my kids might like it. Well, they do too.

I’m nearing the end now and tbh I just want it finished it’s gone a bit downhill now and has become very repetitive. Once the wow it’s Spiderman swinging through buildings factor wears off it’s really nothing more than a Batman clone just not as good.

Do you think that because you've blitzed the game over the weekend as opposed to taking your time with it? I only ask because there is repetition in most games whatever you play no?

More than likely it’s still a good game and I have enjoyed it. I have been playing since Thursday so plenty of game to be had. I think it’s just some of the missions are really crap and detract from the game. Also after swinging around the city for a few hours the side quests become repetitive as does the voice narration. The fun drops off after so many times doing the same thing and once the initial wow factor wears off it all becomes a bit meh. I doubt I would want to do it again tbh....

I don't understand why so many had to complete it within two days then go, meeh!

I must have spent just over a month taking in Horizon Zero Dawn before Platinum. Only had a few hours with Spider-Man so far and I'll take it in slowly. Observe everything, movement, combat, story and everything else. Even if it means it takes a month. Heck I still haven't finished the other two Tomb Raider games. I just like to pace myself rather than blitz it.

I don’t really think I have rushed through it tbh. Had a few spare days so just been playing it on and off in between doing other things. I feel I have definitely had my money’s worth it’s just not one I feel I would want to go through again or spend hours doing side missions as they are very repetitive. Can’t say I have ever platinumed a game not really bothered about achievements tbh...

The pacing of the batman games is great.

They gradually introduce enemies with tech that completely throws your previous tactics out of the window. Introducing medics who can revive their comrades and enemies with trackers who can locate you if you use Bat-vision, or giving enemies optic camo, so you can't see them at all.

I'm 50% through Spider-man and it doesn't really seem to do this to be honest. The tactics I used at the start of the game are still working fine. Most people other than brutes and shield guys can just be launched in the air and dealt with.

It's definitely a solid 7/10 Not that scores mean much. It's let down by side content that may aswell not be there as the depth of that stuff doesn't compare to other games in 2018 at all.

Some of the side missions share similarities to 2009's infamous on ps3 a game that is almost 10 years old. I think a lot of this has been let slide because the pros really are that good. Movement, look and feel etc smashes it.

Also its marvel, people love marvel ;) I'm not really a comic fan Really so I'm here really for a good game and for the most part it is here aside from issues mentioned above. I think marvel fans will get more out of it. References etc.

Does sound a lot like Infamous. And whilst I liked those games well enough the side missions just seemed like filler and they got old fast just doing the same thing in a different part of the map. Most open world games are guilty of this. RDR2 will be the same but hopefully the story will make up for it.

Yeah I can't blame this game in general actually as it's sort of a trend in gaming lately it just stands out more here as it's weaker than most. Games like Witcher had such compelling side stories that in places bested the main campaign in ways. But even that game had repitition

The story is a bit weak and predictable too which does not help. Better writing and a different story with twists would have been better. It kind of felt like they built the world then tacked on the story which is probably what did happen tbh....
