I have to say that Walt Smith is going up in my estimation more and more every day but he seems to be going down in the estimation of Rangers fans.

He is getting out after performing a feat akin to a modern miracle with rangers and I think he is just tired of it all - it must be hard coming in to work every day with your hands tied financially knowing that you have to sell your best players.

I do believe that, if Kenny Millar was still at Rangers, the league table and the cup tie may have looked completely different at the end of the season to how it is going to.

the way i saw it was,

diouf was the main instigator, or involved in all the main incidents. the guys is a clown, he has been banned several times and fined several times. he spits on fellow humans without thinking and has also abused several children. the guy is nothing short of trouble.

rangers players resorted to hacking, when they realised they werent going to win.

bougherra's trample on the heel of a celtic player was horrible. naismith was maybe harshly done by for the first yellow, but so was scott browns yellow so that evens the playing field right there so rangers fans cant complain and neither can celtics. he had no-one but himself to blame for the second yellow. diouf was just begging to be sent off all game and he got his wish at the end, then ran to his supporters acting like he was all mental, are you sure he is from Senegal? he was acting like the local ned's of paisley.

lennon could have maybe kept his cool at the end, but it was all handbags stuff as was the tunnel incident, just banter. the main part which annoyed me was how unsporting the game was with rangers players actually looking to assault the celtic players, did you see the swipes at samaras as the whistle blew?

the number of yellows and red's proves this. if rangers had played fairly then they would have had maybe 2 yellows at the end of the game.

Ally McCoist is a happy go lucky jovial kind of chap. Not the kind to take offence or let things get on top of him. Lennon has said something to Diouf in another attempt to provoke him and McCoist hasn`t like what he has heard. So much so that even 45 to 50 minutes later he was still angry about it.

C*ltics tactics are pretty despicable. At every opportunity, attempt to get Diouf sent off by constant provokation. It`s a pretty unsporting tactic.

Neither Whittikar or Bougherra should have been sent off, a yellow would have sufficed. Brown should also not have been booked. The referee was terrible.

It will be interesting to see exactly what Lennon said to diouf at half time to cause Diouf to react the way he did.

Diouf simply wants to play football, it seems Lennon has made his players ensure this won't be allowed to happen.

I hope when the dust settles and our squad has time to assess the utter hatred and bitterness level C*ltic have taken this match down to, it will instill a bit of resolve in them and players will at last realise that when they play these matches, it isn`t just a game of football we`re involved in.

Lennon actions at the end were that of a man totally out of control. An emotional time bomb and i`d hate to be around when it finally goes off.

As always, No surrender. ;)

diouf was the main instigator.

Diouf has no choice in being at the centre of these controversies.

Your manager`s tactics are that every one of your players and coaching staff provoke him at every opportunity.

Even Mjallby tried it at half time.

I don`t think i have ever seen this in a so called professional Football team.

C*ltic are playing some very good football and working hard like a team. Is this only achievable by them taking their bitterness and hatred to a new lower level? Does it give them the extra edge?

It is very very ugly.

It seems to happen to that poor guy every team he plays for.

If it did happen, and I am not excusing it if it did but the incident where he spat at someone else at Parkhead may be tainting peoples opinions of him (memories take a while to fade) - that and all the other reported "incidents"

Can you explain how it was Lennon who 'turned it into a bar brawl'? I think the sheer hatred for Neil Lennon colours many peoples views when he is involved.

Lennon is a pantomime villain Nor.

he has snarled and spat his way through Scottish football since his arrival. He is/was hated for his antics on the field.

Even Dundee Utd and Hibs fans detest him.

He has played the part of a pantomime villain and in turn can expect the abuse that comes with it. If he can't handle it, he shouldn`t be in it.

Last night once again showed he cannot handle the pressure. Ridiculous, juvenille behaviour at Whittikar's sending off an then again at full time.

Do you honeslty expect football fans to simply ignore his antics and laugh it off?. In his time in scotland he has interracted with fans from most clubs. Snarled, spat, blew pretend cigar smoke....etc etc.

Are you seriously expecting him to be loved with open arms?

If you do, then maybe we can hope for the same with EHD? ;)

Poor guy?

Your words not mine. At no point did i imply he is an angel but if your clubs players, fans and management deliberately set out to provoke him and every opportunity in an attempt to have him sent off, do you really think this is in the best interests of our game?

How long are you club going to seek revenge?

Diouf simply wants to play football

Oh my, two very wrong statements. McCoist completely lost it last night. The Rangers tactics where to simply park the bus and play for the counter. When that didn't work, the kick everything in hoops tactic began. If that is what is to be expected when McCoist is manager (he allegedly manages the cup games) then Rangers will struggle to field a side with all the suspensions that will be incurred.

Diouf is an idiot who makes Brown look positively saint like. It was Diouf who was out to posture and provoke and what the hell was he thinking when he barged into the Celtic physio? If that wasn't to provoke then what was it or wasn't the pitch big enough for his ego.

If Celtic are bitter and hateful, how do you account for the lack of red cards and only two yellows compared to three reds and five yellows for Rangers. Are you sure you watched the same game as everyone else?

How do you know that lennon started it? It has been reported that lennon was unhappy that Diouf barged the physio as he ran onto the park! Just seen the footage on sky, and poor wee diouf does indeed elbow the physio as he runs by. Unless you have proof otherwise. Don't let mcCoists happy go lucky go lucky jovial personality cloud your judgement. I'm sure he has a ruthless streak in him.

"Celtic's tactics were dispicable" Oh, that's a cracker! My sides are hurting with that one. Every team will try and provoke someone they know is a hothead. AKA ian ferguson on di canio. I only seen one team trying to play football and it wasn't rangers. They were determind to hack the celtic players at every opportunity.
Whittaker might've been unlucky with his first booking but his second was definately a yellow. If he wants to fly in recklessly when he's already on a yellow, then more fool him. As for bougherra, he could and should've been sent off for the "tackle" on hooper. Put's his studs down his calf and achillies when the ball is nowhere near him! Shocking challenge! Maybe he still thinks he's allowed seven fouls after being booked before he's sent off. Don't think the ref got any major decisions wrong.

"utter hatred and bitterness level C*ltic have taken this match down to" Say's a man who can't even type celtic! How petty!

Regarding the mccoist lennon incident at the end. Unless we get footage or a sound recording, we will not know WHO is responsible for the bad feeling. So there's no point speculating! Having said that i do hope lenny clams down, and concetrates on getting celtic to keep playing rangers off the park!

According to SSN, it looks like the spat after Whittaker was sent off was caused by Diouf barging into the Celtic physio as he ran on to treat Izziguire.

Well after watching last nites game i won't ever be going to celtic park for an old firm game as it seemed to be more about trying to injure each other then a game of football . I think both sides where as bad as each other last nite . Celtic did wind up diouf but he didn't need to re-act and also Neil Lennon seems to be abit of a p**** if you ask me he is always mouthing and complaining . I'am actually surprised mc coist didn't throw him a dig last nite .

Craig do you actually think Lennon's antics on the sidelines are acceptable?

Are you happy to see your manager being constantly restrained, constantly mouthing disgusting and vulgar obsceneties and generally acting like some kind of Friday night ned?

Are you happy for your kids or younger brothers etc watching that? Do you think it sets a good example?

Do you think it is necessary given the way your team actually play football?

Haven't seen SSN but i`ll take your word for it.

Even if he did barge in to the physio, do you think it justifies Lennon, once again, being restrained by his fellow coaches? Do you think a sane and rational manager should come across in to the opposition technical area and remonstrate?.

Do you condone this kind of behaviour and role model behaviour?.

get off your high horse.

Diouf was worse, you had 3 players sent off, and about 6 others booked.
Ally McCoist was no saint, only Smith conducted himself well.
A lot of change in attitude needed from Lennon, a lot more widespread change needed through the rangers squad it would seem. You should probably focus on your own club being a complete embaressment rather than Celtic's manager being one.

Thank **** Lafferty wasn't playing, most Gers fans i know hate him too.

According to Clyde 1 (I think it was Andy Walker)

Diouf was called over by the rangers management to relay tactical instructions after whittaker got sent off.
A brush of shoulders with the physio (not barged like some people like to think)
And Lennon runs out screaming and shouting.

Ally who was sick of Lennon verbally abusing his players had had enough and wanted to give him a piece of his mind, was restrained by Smith but let his feelings known at full time.

Sounds about right to me.
