*** Splinter Cell: Conviction - Official Thread ***

It's coming out on pc as well tomorrow? I thought it was just Xbox live.
Just had a quick search and it seems I must have misread the article - apparently it will only be appearing on the Xbox 360 tomorrow - Sorry for the confusion! :)

I think it looks quite good. I enjoyed Double Agent too, although they could have made that a much better game than it was, in terms of the having to keep the terrorists and the Third Echelon happy. You could maybe have been able to fully choose a side, that way it could've been way more open ended in my opinion, they could have added different mission trees and made your decisions impact the game much more than "X" character gets killed if you perform "X" action.

i havent played DA on PC, have done on console and it was quite good
but i heard that the PC version was very poor - looking at the game i am not expecting anything decent from it

With the exception on Pandora Tomrrow, I loved all of the other Splinter Cell games and I really want to play this but the DRM issues is putting me off at the moment.

Ha, I would be very worried about that. You have to ask yourself why they're not willing to let you demo the PC version.

Awww, hoping you read it somewhere else, disappointed now. :(

Hehe sorry buddy :p
It makes me wonder why there won't be a PC demo...

DRM issues + No Demo = No buy for me... I think I'll be going console - and that's if I buy it at all!

funny, after playing the demo on 360 felt like res sucked and thought about getting it on pc instead... then i remembered about the new ubi drm, if it has that i dont think ill bother

For people that have played the Xbox demo, other than the graphics is the gameplay good? What do you guys think?

its still very much splinter cell, i found it hard to see in the dark without night vision though, mark and execute works nicely but only requires one silent takedown to gain 3 marks which makes it fairly easy, cover to cover animation is nice, the ai voice work is quite bad... i found that once they where in seek mode they would say the same thing over and over again in that kind of "who turned out the lights, what was that noise" kind of way

Looks more like Bourne than Fisher to me...
And they changed Fisher's history
and there doesn't seem to be much stealth gameplay, more humanly impossible gunfights. If i wanted that, i would play Crysis.
Looks like another fail to me.

its still very similar in its control scheme and gameplay flow, you have to access then act, then reaccess then act again, you get caught out and your dead just as quickly as in any other sc. The demo was ok, didnt wow me but i much prefer the direction they eventually took compared to the original concepts 3 or so years ago

Having played the demo on 360 it didn't seem that bad but I don't like the DRM they've slapped onto it so I would have to rent/buy it for 360 someday - not PC - even if the graphics are far better!

Ubi can go to hell with this shoddy DRM.

My purchase will be on the 360. Such a shame as i like playing my games in real 1080p

That's not actually telling Ubisoft to go to hell as they're still getting your money. All they will see is a drop in PC sales but a rise in consoles, solidifying their view that worrying about PC sales is a waste of time.

Personally I'm not giving them any more of my money...

Another "not touching this or Assassin's Creed 2 with a bargepole due to the DRM" chappie here.

I'm buying a PS3 next week and I still won't get these games. Ubisoft don't deserve my money.
