It won't top Chaos Theory. That's all I will say.

Chaos Theory, the series fell into decline after that masterpiece. That GT video wasn't inspiring either as the game looked to bright with really dull chunky textures :( crossing it of the list for now ..

PCGAMER gives the game a good review but compains about the intrusive DRM. I am still going to get it, dispite the DRM nonsence.

It looks terribly uninteresting..

Chaos Theory was quite brilliant, Double Agent next gen was a disaster, this one looks mediocre :/

not many true stealth games anymore, stupid Ubi

Someone in the US bought a copy 1 day before street date there & posted some info & screenshots.

Supports plenty of advanced gfx options on PC & looks very sharp compared to the poor 360 version (which actually looks about 6 years old as the gfx are so bad + 360 still has poor FPS even with such poor gfx )

Uncompressed ultra HD screenies in here:

That's not actually telling Ubisoft to go to hell as they're still getting your money. All they will see is a drop in PC sales but a rise in consoles, solidifying their view that worrying about PC sales is a waste of time.

Personally I'm not giving them any more of my money...

As much as I want this, Im completely with Jed. Was shocked how many times I saw "Im buying the for the 360, screw the DRM". That eventually leaves us PC gamers with no market!

Though fortunely, despite the bugs, BC2 has totally bucked the trend and gave PC gamers a new lease of life.

I dont get what the big deal is with DRM? dont most modern pc/internet users have an always on broadband connection?.....am i missing something here??

I agree with you, but if I were to play devils advocate here.. ubisofts DRM is like only being able to drive your car if you have the radio on. Sure, we all have radios in our cars and most of us usually drive around with the radio/cd player on anyway.... The moment you need to listen to someone giving you directions or you need to concentrate it becomes highly irritating.

It's more the principal I think that has made so many PC users get their knickers in a twist rightly or wrongly. Every game currently bought and installed on my PC is multiplayer and therefore requires it to be perma online. Their software clearly states this and having to be logged into Ubisoft would make no difference to me.

If this DRM does help stop piracy then it can only be a good thing in the long run, sadly it will affect some people without internet but if you work in an industry that loses millions in revenue each year from thieves then you would understand why they do it. The game will no doubt get cracked and work without the connection but if its worth playing then it's worth paying for.

But the point is it won't stop piracy, the only people who suffer are the people who buy it. That's the whole point, its arrogance and/or idiotic management if they think something like this will stop the 'crackers'.

Pirates can play it offline and get it free. Servers go down? Pirates can still play it, the person who forked out £40 can't.

£40 for a PC game ?? are you have a laugh do you seriously think a PC gamer would fork out £40 for any new game ?? Most PC games are available for the measly sum of £17 upto maybe £25, if thats too expensive they need to get a bloomin job damn slackers ^^

I understand what your saying, but Piracy IS theft however people try to cover it up but alas I don't want to digress. I know three mates who all bought AssCreed II and none have had a single problem playing the game. I doubt there will ever be a DRM that is 100% perfect, it's obviously a challenge for hackers to break it and claim some kind of status, but I'm all for companies at least trying to take a stand whilst wanting to make a living.

Hopefully this game turns out good and the multiplayer aspect worth playing, the DRM for me is not an issue but I'll only order when I have more info about it's playability.

For the future of PC gaming , i think its right to have this anti-piracy protection , PC gaming would soon die , just think , if you designed a game , would you want someone stealing it? and not paying?? We need to support the company`s , the only thing i disagree with is the price of some games , I will buy these top games , if i dont like it , i will sell it.....Simples

I agree with the above stuff about the rubbish DRM, but seeing as there're a good few threads already discussing that, has anyone given this a shot yet? Is the gameplay any good? Looks nice (except sam looks a bit weird straight on, guess they spent more time on the back of his head :p), so if the gameplay is decent then might be worth a shot once it's out on steam

It's not out until Friday and it also won't be on Steam in the UK.

Its not £40. Seen it for sale pre-order £24.99. Not a bad price, DRM is poor however its not the end of the world. I don't mind too much, however it is a pain if your internet connection goes down.. Should be allowed to continue to play once you've authenicated the game each time you load it... Once loaded, if the connection goes offline, you shouldn't be forced to quit the game...

PC version looks very impressive for a game based on Unreal Engine 2.5:eek: Ubisoft have tweaked the shaders & other graphical touches to make it look pretty good. FPS is very smooth as well so far @ 1920x1200 with max everything including x16QAA

DRM is a total non issue it takes seconds & your done plus unlimited installs & no DVD ever needed in the drive so finally they are starting to treat PC gamers like grown-ups ;) Game install is very smooth takes very little time & only uses 6.98GB with almost seamless & instant loading at all times as Ubisoft have created a way to preload or load the entire thing stream into memory so you never even notice :D

However, Ubisoft still suck a little as the game needs to be patched to version 1.01 as it does not work properly with a gamepad at all right now & Ubisoft have already released a patch which fixes that plus several other issues as below:

ONLY PROBLEM IS UBISOFT HAVE NOT MADE THE PATCH AVAILABLE TO HARDLY ANYONE SO NO-ONE CAN FREAKING DOWNLOAD IT YET
