*** Splinter Cell: Conviction - Official Thread ***

I got this earlier - graphics are nice but nothing special IMO.

The game is more Jack Bauer than Sam Fisher though - although thats not a bad thing.

As usual it feels a bit 'consoley dumbed-down' but the cover system and light / dark mechanic work really well.

DRM is a non issue - I bought a grey market CD key and the new DRM means I dont need the DVD. :D

what are the system requirements for this game? might just order a copy if its not too high ....

thanks Meloco, I managed to get on the Ubi forums in work and it's put me right off the game. Nearly every post is someone with a complaint from installing to connection problems :( ..

AWPC, let me know how performance pans out as you progress, mate.

I started playing with everything maxed at 19x12 with 4xAA, but to hold a near constant 60fps I had to drop the AA.

Around mission 5 I had to lower my res to 1680x1050 with no AA (tested with and without) as it would badly stutter at certain points, still not great at 1680x1050, either.

I seem to be fiddling with the settings more than I'm playing it so have now decided to leave it alone until (hopefully) a patch sorts it out.

On a more positive note my 360 controller works fine with the game.

Running an i5 at 4.2GHz and a gtx 480 btw

Cheers

May be a while mate as still waiting for Ubi to release the patch which contains the wireless 360 controller fix

Strange, I'm completely anti this new DRM Ubisoft are bringing in, but I've gone and bought this. I will probably crack it anyway since the always online thing will cause me problems with my unstable broadband.

Doesn't sound promising considering rec. requirements are exactly earth shattering :(

All 1920x1200 Max Gfx including x16QAA. Probably has the most detailed gfx of any PC game made to date. Screenshots do not show all the detail in the backgrounds or on the floor.
