***SPOILERS AHOY!!!*** Football 1st-5th Jan

Fulham v West Brom on Sky...

Just seen that.

Arsenal v Man City
Aston Villa v Sunderland
Blackburn v Liverpool
Blackpool v Birmingham
Bolton v Wigan
Everton v Tottenham
Fulham v West Brom
Man Utd v Stoke
Newcastle v West Ham
Wolverhampton v Chelsea

All this and they pick the drossiest looking fixture out of the lot? (no offence to fans of either team). Even as a United fan i'd pick the Arsenal - City game out of that, or even Wolves - Chelsea.

There probably are, can't complain at the TV games being shared around though, it does give us all a chance to see what the likes of West Brom are up to more extensively than some useless MoTD highlights. 9/10 we do get to see Man Utd/Arsenal/Chelsea etc. to be fair.

I don't mind them moving outside the "big four" (or five) but they seem to have picked the worst looking fixture.

Newcastle - West Ham is one that looks like it could be a damn good game. Two managers with a point to prove.

Yep, also I'm not sure if Everton vs Spurs is tonight or tomorrow but that should have been scheduled to be on TV

Fixtures are chosen by the FA (and some media people) and split into packages in which Sky et al bid for.
This game not being on TV is a result of the televised games being decided before the season start.

Oh for **** sake. Jags out

If Heitinga and Coleman are not fit, then it's going to be either Hibbert or Neville at right back with Osman on the right of midfield. Gareth Bale is going to have so much fun.

Looking forward to the Arsenal - City game tonight, two decent attacking sides. Hopefully City don't play it safe though because of injuries or it being so tight at the top.

Manchester United Team:
Kuszczak, Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Evra, Nani, Fletcher, Gibson, Giggs, Berbatov, Hernandez.

Subs:

Stoke Team:
Begovic, Wilkinson, Huth, Shawcross, Collins, Delap, Wilson, Whitehead, Etherington, Jones, Tuncay.

Subs:

Good Utd team there apart from Gibson - think it will be a pretty disjointed midfield, at least its 4-4-2 though

Glad to see Chicarito starting (not too convinced about PIG starting though)

Smalling's first start of the season. Gigs and Nani back should give us some better balls in the box. been lacking that as of late.

Gibson :(

At least there is no Neville, Fergie is making himself a laughing stock by playing him. I'd rather Fergie took to the field.

I knew as soon as I benched Nani from my FF team that he'd make a miraculous recovery :p

Can't help feeling that Fletcher, Giggs, Gibson is not strong enough though.

Is VdS injured? Seems odd to rest him two games in a row.

wish Utd never had to suffer Gibson ever again, but looks like Fergie likes him unfortunately, Anderson should be there instead

Theoretically VdS is just being rested, have no idea why after missing out at the weekend

Are you sure - I know Evans played a lot at the beginning of the season, but I could have sworn Smalling has already had a few starts under his belt!!!

edit - you are totally correct, Smalling has only started CC and CL matches upto this point
