and why is that blocking of the ball when its going out allowed? there not trying to play the ball at all, just holding back another player.
 
He's poor in every area bar hitting a long shot. Not good enough for United by a long way at this stage. That said, a loan out to a championship team or something might get him back on track.
 
Unsurprisingly the weakest players in the United team so far have been Gibson and Obertan. It's too early to comment on their long-term future at United but neither have showed much promise this season.
 
Bar a good goal in the CL Obertan has looked pretty useless. Uncomposed and hardly that intelligent with the ball.

EDIT: Sweet he's just ruined a great run by Fabio.
 
I have to say, I was expecting Utd to tear Southampton apart, even if they are mostly reserves but it just isn't happening.

Saints have had more possession, more attempts on goal, more corners and just generally seem to be holding themselves together pretty well. I'm quite impressed.

United are playing Obertan & Gibson. That's like playing with 9 men. :p

This Man Utd team isn't really going to tear anyone apart, especially away from home.

Should still win though, but we look extremely disjointed at the moment and most attacks go nowhere.
 
Have been very impressed by Southampton, considering they're in league 1, they look very assured on the ball and are set up really well to limit where Man Utd can go forwards. They could do with committing an extra man forwards more often, but you can understand their caution since they're playing Man Utd
