***SPOILERS*** Football 30 Apr - 2 May 2010/2011

Thought you worked saturdays?:p

Got a new job.

How were spurs not robbed of aleast a point?

Robbed? I can understand the frustration, but like I say, Chelsea should have had a penalty which probably would have been converted, add to that the fact that Chelsea were the only team who looked like they were trying to score, I don't think Spurs were 'robbed'.

But if you want to go on just what actually happened, then yes Spurs should have had at least a point.

The games at SB against Spurs are pretty much always dull, shame Harry didn't play a but more openly. But then again, I can completely understand why he chose not to. Oh, just thought I'd add Pavlyuchenko is ****

Forgot about that.

6th place still gets Europa next season though don't they?

Not that we really want it. I reckon it would be better to have neither like last season to give us a better chance of bagging 4th again.

Only if Man City win the cup, if they dont then 6th will not be a european place.

As opposed to fiction.

Nice sarky remark. We're talking with regards to what the sides deserved, not what they actually got. If you cared to read my post you would have seen I said tottenham 'should' have walked away with AT LEAST a point. That's not to say your performance merited it, much like Bale's PFA award.

So a win tomorrow puts us 5th and with Spurs having to travel to City before they face us, we might not even have to beat them to keep 5th spot.

Who'd have thought that was possible 4-5 months ago? :)

and what has that got to do with anything?

Harrys up...

Because it's about a winning mentality, Chelsea didn't give up and are used to winning things.

Spurs were hopeless and looked deflated and beaten as soon as Chelsea got one back.

Liverpool to get 4th? :p

Deserved has nothing to do with it.

I don't blame them...

I don't "blame" them either, teams should be used to getting **** all at the Bridge now though.

You expect your team, despite this to show fight and have a belief they can get something out of the game, about mental strength, winning mentality. Spurs lacked this, and only really got worse as the game went on.

Doesn't excuse the shocking performance by the ref / Chelsea's 12th man.

Rangers are back! I've been waiting 15 years for today, can't wait for the party next week at the game vs Leeds. FA rulings notwithstanding (I can't see them denying promotion).

Most people looked past the 'doom and gloom' whiney attitude that the majority of Liverpool fans have had for the last couple of months.

4th-6th is about right, and as you say you could finish well right in the middle of that.

Not a chance. We'd need City to lose at least 2 and draw another 2 of their remaining 5 games (probably 3 defeats and a draw).

yeah 4th is well beyond us, but considering that when Kenny took over people were beginning to suggest we would be in a relegation fight, mocked the appointment of Kenny, to take us from that sort of state into european qualification in half a season, whilst also selling our "top" striker, would be a brilliant feat.

I hope that's sarcasm!

Indeed. We were a midtable side in most peoples eyes before Kenny tookover. Despite that being BS, to have closed the gab from where we were to where we are now is an excellent job.

The King's got to be a good shout for manager of the season if we finish 5th.

Why?

A great deal of your squad is used to finishing in the Champions League spots. Not doubting that Kenny's come in and done a great job, but that's largely all he had to do - motivate the players after Hodgeson's tenure. The talent that did well in previous years for the most part was already there.

I had doubts as to whether Spurs could keep up their efforts of last season, and it appears they're faltering slightly at the end.

I think I predicted you'd have a top 6 finish, and as said above most people who thought you would finish mid table or lower were those overly loud and pessimistic Liverpool fans.

Edit - or hopeful United fans. ;)

In the end though, although Liverpool were in the bottom half at the beginning, there was only a few points in it. The table has been so close all season that a couple of wins was always going to put them higher up.
