***SPOILERS*** Football 7 May - 10 May 2011

completely silly imo to not punish repeated fouls by the same players, especially when it looks so obviousely like part of the game plan, rather than by accident

Yes, with a free kick. 3 fouls is hardly repeated but might deserve a yellow, but a red, never.

Stick or twist is the conundrum here. We've shown in Europe that we can control games but then we've also shown today that we've got the beating of Chelsea. Just need to not concede 3!

Actually we need to go at ivanovic hard.

Is shamikebab serious about that being the only incident united have got away with?
Gob smacked if so.

You say cards should go on a game by game basis but Vidic being sent off last week would mean he is not on the pitch to score that second.

If Ivanovic stays on the pitch after his next foul, whatever it is, it's criminal. Webb did this in the WC Final, keeping players on the pitch who deserved clearly to be sent off so as to not "spoil the game". The referee's job is to enforce the laws, not ensure the players have a nice time. Idiot.

To be fair, they've got away with a lot, but do get a lot against them, especially quite big decisions.

Vidic should've been done for the handball, but then again a lot of things are missed unfortunately :(

Berba on for Rooney 60-70 minutes to stop him getting another yellow?

Need to keep pace on, Chelsea are in a position now where Terry isnt moving well, sideshow bob is having a mare and Ivanovic will be sent off the next tackle he gets wrong.
They have Essien on a yellow as well, they should keep running at them as I can see Chelsea having 2 sent off here the way things are going.

Pretty much what I hope happens in the second half, I get nervous when United sit back.

I wonder how matches Rooney will be banned for after his V sign to the Chelsea fans?

Absolute idiot. The one guy that has destroyed football enjoyment for me.

Really? You believe 1 player that gives the finger to fans has "destroyed" football?

He has committed 3 fouls, only one bad, the first.
No one whines like this when Crouchie gave away was it 14-15 fouls in Milan and got away without a card?

The fact that this game is of any importance at all is down to Chelsea being given 2 non goals last week end, and non penalty in their home match against us.

By that I meant an incident of downright bias. The Vidic call last weekend was simply missed by the officials (and nearly everyone)

The Neville incident was seen and he wasn't sent off because of bias.

Same as with Ivanovic just now.

Bias? Ivanovic could have been sent off but I don't think it was straight forward (there was nothing in the 3rd foul imo).

I wouldn't say there was any 'bias' in not sending Neville off either and I'm not sure if you mean the Neville/WBA red card or the Neville/Stoke red card; they were both equally ridiculous decisions.

Then why did the ref hang around for 30-40 seconds making the decision?

Think it was the Stoke game, he was on a yellow and completely took Etherington out, it was a red to everyone, United fan or not.
