***SPOILERS*** Football 7 May - 10 May 2011

yeh props to rose. the positive was the way we dominated possession but the lack of goals is a bit of a joke now. if we'd have killed the games off that we should have done then 4th would've been ours before this game.

just so frustrating to watch; bags of possession but just clueless. is vdv the problem? the system just doesn't work. need a clear out of all our strikers imo and build around vdv and modric. sandro does look good, wish i could say the same about pienaar who is a waste of space.

Van der Vaart isn't the problem, it's clueless Crouch that is the problem, hasn't offered us a lot since November time apart from aimless headers.

That'll do me. :)

It didn't do Everton any good to be in Europe a few seasons ago, it just meant their players were more tired for the Premier League, due to having a fairly small squad.

It is amazing progress for Stoke to be in Europe, but don't be fooled, it isn't like the big boys being there, who have 2 or 3 teams worth of Premier League contenders so they can play an under 16 side to beat the dross of the league and play their big guns in the real matches.

Yeah because Fulham had a massive squad the year they nearly won it?

might be worth you checking out the yellow card and fouls count when the rugby team beat Arsenal.

Great. What's that got to do with how Stoke play and them faring in Europe? You may have had fewer fouls this time but what about previous games? Or say breaking legs? Or say dumping another player off the pitch, further off the pitch?...:p:confused:

Say what you like about Stoke, they are very hard to beat...they might go quite a long way in the Europa Cup

They're from the EPL, by standards I shouldn't imagine they'd have any issues in the first few rounds considering they'll be off to e.g. E Europe. When they get to better sides I think their over physical play will in one way or another be their undoing. Jokes aside as a fan of English football it's a pity really. There's little interest from top sides these days in the Europa league, there's not a time for a better chance if they can rid their play of this.

A sort of domestic classic example of why England always fail in summer tournaments.

As much as i dislike stoke being a vale fan no reason they can't do well in europe. There bench hasn't looked bad at all for the last 2 seasons.

Some good players sitting around waiting for a chance to impress.
