Stalker 2

I'm trying to determine if its worth upgrading to a 9800x3d. I can see a lot of the new games announced such as the new Doom has high CPU requirements but usually those spec sheets are more marketing plus in my mind I still feel like the 5800x3d is still a very capable cpu.

Nah. Just wait until AM6. Same with your GPU. Skip a gen and save pennies to upgrade both.

The first update of the year, patch 1.1.4 is already here!
Shader compilation issue, as well as story and performance bugs were addressed.

Attention, stalkers!

The first patch of the year 2025 is ready. We addressed the most critical issues, based on your feedback on Steam and other platforms. Please, continue to share your thoughts, as it helps us make the Zone an even better place.

To cut the story short, here is the list:
  • Fixed crashes and freeze on shaders compilation
  • Fixed memory leak occurred at Rostok location
  • Fixed performance degradation when shooting/aiming on saves with long playtime
  • Implemented fixes, that should solve the problem causing saves to be lost on Xbox
  • Fixed a random crash related to UI animations.
A fight with the Shader Compilation was among the hardest for all of us in recent days. Please, if your particular shader compilation issue is still present — let us know via our Tech Support Hub. This is also the best place to report other bugs and “anomalies” that are not supposed to be in the Zone.

Thanks a lot for staying with us and with the Zone. We continue working on the future update, and monitor your comments and feedback.

13GB download for me.

GSC said on discord that they are "very soon" releasing another patch as this one is only a hotfit, the next patch is the winter major patch and contains a lot more struff. Here's hoping Hardware RT and DLSS 4 is baked in too.

For now you can manually swap in the DLLs and as people have found, DLSS Performance now looks better than the old DLSS Quality:

Be sure to enable profile J as well using an updated fork of Profile Inspector:

Feedback on Steam/Reddit says the memory leak there is not fixed.
Having your personal stash in Rostok open too long will crash the game
And they are correct. Also in the arena it has locked up on multple occasions. Three times, after I completed the arena and went to open the door to get to the safe at the bottom of the stairs where my kit is, the door opening sound slowed way down and then the game just froze.

Hmmm I was hoping that was fixed. Spent a decent bit of time in Rostok post patch and not had the issue re-occur (yet)

I was doing the arena missions yesterday and it felt a little sluggish. I did accidentally reset my graphics preferences whilst ******* about with hdr.
Just finished final arena fight and first time ive had this memory leak issue games just locked up 3 times in a row ,first game breaker after 77 hours :(

I hope they fix the issues with the bandits that have double barrelled shotguns that they don't ever have to reload or at least let me have one :p

Managed to muddle my way out of the memory leak crashes via a couple of quick saves and dashes out the area , Pita though....

Yea, sniping from 100m away with a double barrel shotgun like its a sniper rifle... And never having to reload
Ditto,

I was on top of a building and took a silenced pot shot at a bandit in the head. His buddy within a millisecond landed a shell in my face (behind cover too) Crazy!

I've put in a change request ticket for them to sort it out.

Submitted Request
Please can you amend the behaviour of the double barrelled shotguns used by bandits as they are significantly overpowered;
1) They don't have to reload after 2 shots.
2) They have significantly more effective range than the shotguns available to the player.
