Stalker 2

Not a good start to the update..

I had only one crash after 16+ hours, but got this after less than a minute
Just had same on exit

I really got put off from exploring after possibly 3 areas that had nothing in them (1 was a really parkour style to the top of a building) only to find that I had to go back and explore them as part of a quest. Then there was stuff in there. The one at the top of the building had a switch that didn't do anything until the second time I was up there with an active quest.

I just walk past things now which I don't like doing.

See I'm not so much a compeletionist but I do like to rinse an area for all it's worth before moving on. I'm a play once type of guy. I've little intention of coming back to the game after I've finished the main story. I'm quite happy to explore every feature until I'm satisfied. Regardless of the bounty. I don't like to move on to a new zone until I've grabbed all the stashes currently available.
I'll do a final sweep before endgame.

That would maybe be acceptable if they had more than a couple of bandages and half a sausage when you loot their dead bodies.

Turn down the difficulty as it will increase the spawning number of items. The "economy of things" when it comes to gameplay is a mess - like it usually was in the series and pretty much almost all games. Everything is artificially limited which makes no logical sense (even for the game world to exist).

I remain incredibly confused at the lack of NVG... was it a deliberate decision to force the player to have a piddly low-power headlamp?

The game has an issue with GI being too dark. It also reacts way, way too slow to fully light up a room. Not sure if is a software Lumen issue or what, but it can be bad. At the same time, stuff like the first game did it a long time ago (shadows from the flashlight), isn't in this game for some reason. So... either modding or wait for the devs to (hopefully) fix it.

I was crashing before the update and just crashed again. Seems mine wasn't one of the 1000000's they fixed

Good to see the update is finally on gamepass. Have just been doing some side quests and accumulating some cash in the meantime. Hopefully my armour will now be cheaper to repair.

Only had about a 2-hour session since the update, but all is fine so far. Will have more time on Saturday to put in a longer visit to the Zone.

It seems to me that the amount of loot is very generous, so much so that I keep having to stash it somewhere.

It's nice to visit areas that are familiar from the old games. Earlier, I came across what is normally the Bandit's HQ in the Dark Valley, and surprisingly, it was hardly populated with anyone or anything.
Just a few bandits by the gas pumps and a couple of poltergeists.

I played for a few hours last night and had about 3 CTDs so they clearly have a lot more work to do in that regard. Was crashing pretty frequently before the patch so I think it is somewhat more stable now anyway. Still runs really well (at least for me) so pleased about that.

Anyone know if gamepass saves are transferrable to steam?
They are, I did it last night.

It's pretty straight forward, just requires identifying the right files and some renaming and copy/pasting.

Have a Google and you'll find guides. Good luck. Post back here if you get stuck.

I've died over a 100 times already. I can't really tell any difference with the new patch as I'm not too far in yet. I have only found 2 artifacts so far. Just experience the first emission and found some tunnels with giant rats. A few grenades sorted them out, mostly. I think this game for me, has a lot of milage. I have dropped all my other new games and am just playing this. They have done a good job, as I find it very engaging.

Haha. I am at 70

Mostly because of being stubborn and wanting to have another go at killing an enemy because it did not go the way I wanted.

Like at the start of the game I killed that monster that goes invisible pretty easily on the first go. But bled out and died as was not sure how to use the bandages yet. I then died around 20 times to kill him without taking a hit. Just was stubborn and wanted to do that

Definitely feeling a little more unstable after the patch. I've having 2 niggling issues at the moment. Losing HUD after cutscenes/quest dialogue and occasionally on loading save FPS tanks so much its like a slide show. Both issues are easily overcome by saving and reloading. Minor annoyance but definitely wasnt happening pre-patch.
