Stalker 2

110gb patch and the game has lag in a few places where it didnt have, some quests i tackled last night softlocked as doors and nps were in door ways, very frustrating, and worse the infinite money glich is no more :(

You want Infinite money? That would spoil the game for me.

In RL however...

the path i've taken in the game i'm running through tonnes of ammo fighting off the ward and rouge stalkers, since the patch every 1-2m i'm in a fire fight, condition of all my weapons and armour are dropping fast and its costing lot to fix, the side missions to make money and even artifact hunting dont cover it

plus the fact most vendors dont sell the good stuff until late on in the game, i have a few fav weapons i like to use and most items i leave when shopping in game, just ammo mainly and repair, most other items can be had from fallen stalkers and stashes around the zone

I think a lot of spawning happens from offline to online because of the player bubble needing refined. The game uses offline/online switching but it obviously still has spawn points to make areas such as army bases seem dangerous/alive and I think that also needs tweaked. To be fair the original games did the respawn timers as well for this purpose. You could never truly “clear” an area due to the respawning, but this is obviously for gameplay reasons.

6:05 AI sneaks up on 3 other npcs sitting by a campfire, yet doesn't even manage a single kill

Seems like the most basic AI possible, no military tactics or anything, just walking backwards or forwards whilst shooting

Remember in old games where the AI used to use the environment.... and seem semi smart

Unreal really seems to suck the soul out of games

Was looking forward to getting stuck into this over Xmas but it's borderline unplayable with the introduced left and right stick drift.

Oh well, not like I haven't got a bazillion other games to be getting on with! :p

Dunno if it's the patch or just game progression, but this game has suddenly got ******* hard.

Keep running into groups of Ward soldiers who can't be taken down with any less than half a mag of headshots. Given that they don't stay still the actual ammo cost is much higher.
I've now perfected the art of running away a lot (usually into a pack of boars or something) - but then my actual annoyance kicks in.
My lack of stamina.
I have to drink 2 or 3 energy drinks to run 100 yards. I'm not overloaded. Ridiculous. I don't run or jog but I could go further myself IRL.

Latest patch fixed the shader compilation issue for me :)

Seem to still have a fair way to go on the main quest. It’s a hefty game.

Good to see the world with a bit more life post patch too.

Yeah the stamina system seems a bit too punishing.

I don’t know, it feels right to me. A primary assault rifle, secondary shotgun, loads of ammo, food, medkits, armour and that’s before you add artefacts. 40kg is where I am to be when I set out on missions, or exploring and that allows me to sprint about 400 metres before tiring.

Add some power armour and weight enhancing artefacts, and you can do the same with 60kg.

Frankly if you are carrying more than that and complaining about lack of stamina, you mays as well install an infinite inventory mod.

Well, it's not playing nicely for me this evening.
I arrived at Rostok and as has happened a few times before, it sometimes locks up when opening or attempting to close the PDA screen.

After the third time, it did return to the desktop, so at least I didn't need to do a hard reset again. After which, I was presented with this message:

I have just verified the game files, so hopefully that will help. Shrugs.

Edit: Just loaded it back up and all seems well again. Currently using Intel Xess ultra quality+ and frame gen.
I've also set the FPS limit to a lower value as well.

And yet I have had maybe 4 game lockups resulting from a corrupted save. Use F5 to autosave regularly and even that doesn’t impact you much. I have beat the game with only one or two side quest bugs (Zalyssia Defence) and a boss fight soft lock when he failed to show. But again a reload of a save from just before the fight sorted it out.

After patch 1.1 it is my GOTY. A few QoL improvements, some bug fixes and I will be even happier. I’m a left handed so no key binds on the numpad is annoying, but I fixed that by moving my keyboard 30cm to the right and using WASD.

I played all of the originals and loved them, but won’t delude myself they were perfect. Vanilla versions had serious UI, AI, dialogue, story and a-life issues and were a very niche acquired taste.

I know everyone’s PC is different but I do always find it odd so many crashes in a game that is largely crash free for me.

My game is running like **** since the update. I'm getting a high framerate but the latency and jerkiness is making it unplayable. I've tried that mod to improve it, but it just made it worse I think.

Not sure what else to try.
