Stalker 2

One bug I noticed is that doing a manual save turns off the autosave. You can lose a lot of progress if you make a manual save and don’t F5 often.

I mean manual save for the save menu, not an F5 quick save.

I really need a handy guide to explain who's who and why I'm fighting someone, then friends with them, then fighting them again.
I had a character come up to me in a cutscene (why do I switch to my pistol that isn't modded and then proceed to enter a room like a noob and get knocked out?) and ask me questions and I'm thinking...."Have we met before? What mission are you on about? I have no idea what way to lean with my answers."

Is it just me?
This is probably the first time I've not followed a story.

I struggle to follow stories in games quite a lot, and this is no different. I genuinely don't know why I'm in the zone or what the intro with the scanner was all about. I don't really know what the main quest is about.

The more I am playing the more it seems the story is not as strong as I thought or expected it would be. But oh well, i am still enjoying the game.

I'm using the suit that's very light on armor but has great protection for everything else which doesn't really work well for Survivability but seeing as there is little punishment for dying ill keep using it. In the basement with the 3 or 4 Bloodsuckers I think I died 15 times trying to get past that.

Was looking for Indiana jones thread and spotted this. Honestly forgot this game existed, and have no interest in playing it again. lol

Not enjoying it so far.

The interface isn't particularly good, the dialogue is boring, and sadly the game is visually very boring.

My experience so far, found myself stuck at the start not knowing how to use the scanner, only to find myself standing around for 5-10 minutes scanning pools of sludge before the artifact magically appeared, then got killed by an invisible / reappearing monster. A few deaths later, some guy is giving me instructions and how to throw a bolt to reset anomalies, seems simple enough but died getting caught on some invisible terrain. Then passed what appears to be firefight, of course they all turned their weapons on me, at this point all you have a knife, a few more deaths later I manage to kill them, and I have missions. Then I arrive at the first town and the framerate feels like it's dropped to 45fps, it's claiming 90fps but that's just FG BS.

Not sure what to make of it, the atmosphere seems good but I get the impression it's all smoke and mirrors and it's pretty empty actually. The lighting in the game, can look nice but generally looks very dark in the interiors to the point of needing a flashlight during the day.

I will play a little more but this seems pretty bad to me, hopefully the story gets better.

You forgot that you played it a month ago? You must have a short memory :D

Managed to get into the game and it’s now skipping shader compilation, funnily enough with zero impact on the game.

I’ve played many hours now and although I’m somewhat of a tank, at this point I’d say it’s the most atmospheric game I’ve ever played. It really sucks you in, especially with an OLED and a good soundstage.

Perfect, no, but it’s got something special about it for sure.
