STALKER: Call of Pripyat

What is the point in trading in the Compass Artifact...? If i keep it i get an artifact with lots of protection against various anomolies, if i trade in the VERY rare artifact i get 10k... less than what i get for trading in the crappy ones.

go back to noah.

Shoot him in the face and take the second compass then you can do both :D

on my first play though when he shot at me instead of letting him calm down and talk to him I just threw an F1 grenade in there and blew him and his dog to pieces.

He had 2 compasses on his corpse.

But if you give it to brad after siding with him most of the time you'll get much more money for every artefact you sell to him (more than from anyone else)

If you give it to sultan and get king pin you'll get a small cut of the money from all the artefacts traded to beard but lower rewards and stalkers will randomly shoot you.

Yeah i had a quick look at achievements on the wiki. Think i'd rather not have random stalkers shoot at me, though bandits, bring it on.

Guess i'll go shoot Noah...

Where do you get the SEVA suit? Isn't the Wealthy Client supposed to make Hawaiaan sell t?

Is there anyway to increase my carry weight?

I was going to get a new suit but its weight was about 11kg, my current suit is only about 2.5kg. I only carry two guns, it seems to be the shot gun ammo that weights a lot - but still im only carrying 300 rounds... ;)

Also is there anyway to get the Doctor back on the first map (creek)? He went missing very early on.

there are artefacts that add 8kg/20kg iirc.

Also there's that Hercules chem that increases it by 25kg for 300 secs.

some suits can be nodded to weight less and some can be modded to increase carry weight.

300 shottie rounds is abit over the top for anything but a full auto shottie in the tunnels tbh :p

No, you can't get the Doctor back. However, if you solve the mystery of his ...disappearance, you'll be compensated...

Yep, I modified my Beril Military armour so it weighed 5kg less, and could carry 10 kg more, which means an extra 15kg to play with. Also, if you carry food, I tend to stick to the Tourists Breakfast tins, they don't weigh much, but are still good. In addition to this, if you feel like it, sacrifice mods on certain weapon tiers to take the ones to reduce weight if you need to. Some weapons don't have the options to reduce weight anyway. (The unique 'Lynx' Dragunov from Nimble is one such weapon. But hey, I can carry that, a shotgun and an AK with 10-15kg to spare, more if I don't take meds apart from banages and a couple medkits.)

Even leaving one or two things behind can make all the difference. I don't think 300 shotgun ammo is needed, I rarely carry anything over 500 rounds of AK ammo, 100 shotgun ammo and about 40 rounds for the SVD

I replaced bandages with the pill version once i could get enough of them from the scientists they weigh 5 times less and last longer so take one at the start of a mutant fight and they keep the bleeding down for the whole thing.

Also started using the rad protection before getting into radiation rather than curing it after.

Never thought about those pills, although I do only have 3 or 4 packs :(

Is there a way to tell if you're about to go into radiation?

If you're looking for Jokers other half, check the caves below the Burning Farm.

When on the main road going towards the Burning Farm, just as you pass under the large pipe running above you drop down one of the large fissures and equip your artifact detector, follow the reading and you should reach his body, there is an exit just behind him.

Can't find him at all, no artifacts showing because I got them all, can't find a PDA or body. I went down all of the fissures/exits/entrances and still couldn't find him :( Can you be more specific?

Bleeding is hardly a problem for me in this game for some reason (CS it was a bitch), most of the time with green bleeding it wont actually take off any health so just leave it to go away and worse cuts usually come with low health so I just med kit it if I'm in combat and once out (or if out of combat) switch to a healing artifact and the bleeding will stop within 10-20seconds.

As for rad protection i was fairly lucky and found two -3 radiation artifacts pretty early, normally one of them coupled with another artifact is fine for most places (with the clear sky armour 2/3 upgraded and 2 slots), every so often i may have to unequip a +3 rad artifact for a lower strength one or equip both -3rads but thats not very often.

EDIT: as for my loadout I carry a Gp-37 with about 180 rounds, awesome accuracy, the unique pump action shotty with about 40-50buckshot, mutant killer, and a silenced martha (im stubbornly sticking with a pistol slot and primary slot, not two any weapon slots') with 30-40rounds, stealth head shots + though its not as strong as other pistols it has really low recoil so you can spam at their face incase you miss the first time. Alongside this, the clear sky suit and some helmet that came with it 5 bandages and 10 med kits, 2-3 rad kits just in case, 2 survive blow out drugs and 1 of whatever other types ive got. Artifact wise i always carry the two -3 rads, one ( +6?)health, one +8kg (usful as even when not overweight your sprint time is roughly a % of your current/total carry weight) and some other protection ones if i feel i need them.

Either your memory is off or my game is. Artifacts for weight increase are 4/8/12kg and Hercules is 20kg.

I've been taking around 20-30 slugs and 50-60 shells for Trappers shotgun, 60 AP ammo and 200 regular for the GP37 and 20-30 bullets for my Lynx and 2 of each healing/chem item. Mostly to make up for the fact i carry 3 weapons to keep the weight down.

playing CS again now, my god the bleeding and game in general is so much more brutal :o

on veteren and one shot fro ma sawn off shottie at close range = instant death

encounter with a mutant at night left me just a little bit bleeding but with no bandages and ai bled to death running through the swamp at night before i could find someone to get a bandage off :(

Also radiation is far more dangerus have hardly any anti rad stuff at the start all the water is very strong radiation and i'm having to down 3 bottle sof vodka every time i fall of a little bridge :(

Have to put a tv/film on the other monitor so i can watch that while i sit in a corner during the night as a mutant from behind will kill me >.<

Love it :D

CS is the only Stalker i haven't actually played... mostly because i don't have it.

I'll probably go through CoP again on the hardest difficulty first though since i'm only on Stalker atm.

Just finished CoP. Liked it quite a lot but I think and hope that if there is a next stalker game it'll be using a new engine etc. I feel they've pretty much achieved what they can with what has been created and something new and fresh is in order, something a bit more fleshed out. Nonetheless I enjoyed this and perhaps my mistake was playing at the stalker difficulty instead of veteran. On to Bioshock 2 now! :)

Awww crap. It seems like theres a bug when you eventually find Magpie and turn him in. The achievment says that his stuff is put into your storage box at Yanov, but this doesn't happen even though the mission is finished. Anyone know if there's any mods to fix this?
