STALKER: Call of Pripyat

Anti radiation meds.

also you've got 2 minutes from when you get the emission message + a fair whack of extra time during it (it only kills you at the very end) you can sprint all the way back to the boat with the trader and stuff in it from there in plenty of time.

I pretty much only just started, i'm being a STALKER noob. Wandered to the outpost, got the quest, wandered to the boat, went outside, got shot up, emission warning, slowly die no matter what i do. Maybe i should just start again and pay more attention :D

lol scrapped together about 20k thought id order a gun just to see what i would was expecting some sort of modded an94 or something like that.

Got an FN2000 about an hour into the game :/

I've found two of the helicopters so far, but finding some of the side missions pretty hard even early on. I don't know if I should be dosing myself up with anti-rads and trying to get through areas, or searching around for artifacts to sell and bandits to kill to get more cash together for a better suit. Any suggestions?

Part of me is missing the more linear SoC, I have to admit. Hoping the story narrative gets better!

Those with ATI 5*** cards, is the tessallation effects a worth while addition or is there not as much difference compared to say dx10 than you hoped for?

Anyone getting this weird melting like effect :-

Notice on top of the pipe, around the cranes bucket, and also the telegraph wires just next to it, its like they are all rippling, like being melted lol, well odd, just happens in that space, and if i run sideways, so objects pass over that bit, they start melting/rippling to, for example that boxed girded leg under the pipe to the right of the bucket, if i run sideaways, so that that goes infront of the ripply/melty bit, then that will start doing it to, but if i turn around to look the opposite way, its all fine, its like that one bit of the game world is melting/rippling, and anything that passes infront of it (i.e getting into that space), will do it to.

What difficulty are you guys playing on, and how are you finding the challenge ?

When playing STAlKER: Complete 2009, I found that actually fearing for your life in most encounters was key to my enjoyment. But there are limits of course, - quickloading every minute is no fun.

Im behind on the stalker games, is this a complete new game because screenshots make it look indentical to all the rest.

But I liked the first one a lot with the 2009 complete mod!

On my system performance running XP is great, around 45 - 65fps maxed but performance with Windows 7 is bad, no matter what settings I change I get 27fps and it's very jerky

Is there an issue with Windows 7 and this game?

There's a distortion field in the background. You can see it stretching from the group upwards in a rippling effect. It's supposed to be there, it's part of the crazyness happening within the zone!
