STALKER: Call of Pripyat

What assault rifles are you all using?

I used an Obakan(?) (black AK variant) quite a lot until I got the unique Tunder from Nimble, but while the stats are much better, I find that it takes little time until it has to be repaired again :( I have every otehr assualt rifle from Nimble, apart from the G36 which i mistakenly sold (can I get one of these again?).

Tbh, I'm tempted to go back to the Obakan again, but it's jsut the fact it seems to have much lesser stats that's keeping me.

Yeah the G36 is just a normal weapon though one of the rare ones as only the more 'experienced' stalkers such as the ones in SEVA suits will have them (well spawn with, ive saw a few rookies who have taken them from dead bodies.)

I somehow skipped the soviet weapons pretty much all together, used the starting rifle a few times, though I preferred the pistol for accuracy + a pump action shotgun I found early on. I then got the Ak74 (?) but within 10mins a stash I got had the TR assualt rifle in it and then an hour or so later I got the G36 from Nimble and had enough NATO ammo to use it properly and have been using it as my primary rifle all the way to and currently in Pripyat, though im using the SIG right now for a change as I've loaded myself up on the nade launcher grenades (eventually a STALKER game that has them fair cheap and available in the shops).

The soviet weapons just seem to be worse in almost all areas than the NATO weapons especially accuracy and while maybe better on average than the tunder & VSS the two are more specialised, close combat and long range respectively. The only thing going for the soviet weapons is their availability & the heaps of ammo you get for them, but I'd probably go for the Obakan over the tunder in most situations just if only for the extra range.

the rotary autoshotty is pretty good plus enjoyed the full auto modded USP
 
Only just picked this up today, impressed with it so far. Haven't even attempted to seek out any of the crashed helis yet, just been doing a few quests and exploring. Already had a couple of those awesome, memorable moments that only happen in the stalker games.

I can see myself playing this all weekend now :p

streloks sig is awesome, unlike the normal ones it can take a grenade launcher silencer and scope.
 
yeah i rushjed pripyat at first but aprently there's loads of stuff ther eif you explore rather than just doing the missions,.
 
Doesn't seem like it. Garry complained at me about some mercs that he escaped from so i went out to the apartments at several times of the day/night and there was no one there... other than that its just empty space.
 
the mercs are a mission later on. the stuff like anomalies is ment to be up north around the river doc area.
 
I rushed through Pripyat too. Seemed like a good atmosphere but lacking any content. Playing the original though with the Stalker complete mod. Not at the city yet and this'll be the first time i've been to it in the original! :D
 
just noticed you get a discount on Steam if you own one of the other Stalker games (details on Steam)

14.99 :) seems a good deal ? worthwhile purchase ?
 
I know it's not CoP, but in CS, does anyone know how to get the final armour upgrade for the SEVA suit (kevlar/spectral plates or something)?

I've heard you need a flash drive from the garbage and its needs to be given to the bandit upgrader. Unfortunately I'm not welcome by the bandits, probably killed several hundred of them. :p
 
Ugh. I can't seem to find the Monolith squad near the AA complex. I went there only to find about 6-8 Duty members fighting off two bloodsuckers. Managed to take them down though. Looked around for the 'Liths, but couldn't see them, outside or inside or underground. Came up into the weapons cage, only to find the Duty squad getting torn apart by a chimera.

I RPG'ed that sucker. :cool:

But yeah, where are the Monoliths?
 
Erm i missed the choppers because i got snipered by a monolith just entering the chopper :( im guessing thats the game finished yeah? just got a box popping up saying you missed the chopper etc etc and only had the ok button pop up, im confused if ive finished it or not?? lol the stalkers are now in the place where the army was........
 
the textures are never good at first but the SHARPER mod will fix them when it comes out.


But stalker is all about the lighting.

When it starts getting dark nothing beats the shadows/lights.
