Star Trek general discussion (series, films, rumours)

I found the Pike series hit and miss. The irritating woman on the helm put me off. I skipped a couple of really bad episodes but found it stank of Discovery type writing. Unlike series 3 of Picard which took me back to TNG but updated a bit. Good writing and I didn't feel preached at or cringy.

Some people say to skip Picard 1 and 2, just to get to 3. But i enjoyed them all, especially 3. As for SNW, REALLY enjoyed this and S2 starts in 5 days.

Maybe, but i can't really skip episodes.

TNG, Picard and SNW are the only ones i havent seen. I've kept up with the rest as they aired, except for the original and TNG.

Strange New Worlds S1 was great and I cannot wait for the new series to start on Thursday.

The only series I've still never finished was DS9. When it originally aired I watched till Voyager started then forgot all about it.

Second best series of the whole genre. You should revisit it. Infact I might.

Fair enough, that's normally the best bit. The worst part is the whole religious mumble jumble around the wormhole.
Oh I dunno - if you’re going to start a religion about anything, some aliens outside of time that live in a tunnel to the other side of the galaxy would seem to be a good place to start.

Prodigy being taken off Paramount+. Sound like they've nearly finished a second season but might appear somewhere else.

Paramount+ is circling the drain, Paramount itself is not far behind. Trek is about the only thing the studio has going for it, so of course they're cancelling Trek projects. Classic.

They should have gotten into bed/stayed in bed with Netflix or Amazon rather than (incompetently) try and compete.

Galaxy's Child - Dr Brahms discovers Geordis hologram of her.

This was a little creepy, she said she felt violated and I can see her point of view. Geordi comes off here as potentially stalking and sexually harassing her.

"Mr. LaForge, I accuse you of violating me on the holodeck!"

"I'm guilty of something much worse!"

"Oh yeah? What?"

"Being nice to you!"

"I'm sorry. Can we be friends now?"

This episode hasn't aged well at all and doesn't show Geordi in a great light at all!

Qpid episode tonight - Q puts Picard, the crew and Vash into sherwood forest.

Really enjoyed this one, was quite a few humerous moments, especially when Picard was delivering his speech and Q started gradually changing the crews uniform to Robin Hoods Merry Men! Also when Troi fires am arrow into Data, "well your aim is getting better Counsellor" - lol.

Nothing special, was just a fun episode.

One of Worfs best lines in this episode. 'Captain, I must protest. I am NOT a merry man.'
