Star Trek Online

Still only level 9 at the moment :(... The game is addictive as hell though.

I'd like to join the fleet too it that'as OK?

Everyone are welcome :). Will add you when I get back on after the patching.

I've noticed once you're in a fleet (guild) it seems to lump you all into the same instance by default, which is very handy.

Head to starbase 27 in the starting sector to see the 'massively' bit in action. I'd thought to head there the other night, thinking it was just another base I could re-supply at, but the battle going on when I warped in was just awe inspiring. What I thought was going to be a quick stop over turned into a massive battle, ground rescue mission, and another huge space battle on the way back out.

You get given exploration missions on a regular basis, which usually involves visiting a certain number of planets in another sector. Each one seems to have a small ground mission or space battle to do.

There don't seem to be any 'open' planets you can just beam down to and wander around and see other players, which is a shame. I'd have liked a few ground based hubs.

Yes, go to a fleet action and you will see the massive part. Open teaming is also broken at the moment (at least for me), so this could be another reason why it feels empty. Also, joining our fleet and the "OcUK" chat channel will help :)

Commander 9 here - was mostly focusing on getting items to sell though. Now that is done, back to levelling.

Annoyingly had two bugged quests - Breaking the Planet (cant place charges) and Ground Zero which did not register as complete - skip Ground Zero, it is annoying anyway without the fact that it is bugged.

Still wish i was in a cruiser, but will probably buy one endgame.

Heres a youtube clip of some of the missions ive been doing.

He is a lot higher lvl than me so cuts through enemies a bit better.

That guy is making it difficult for himself. Just get into range, all power to forward shields and keep the enemy in front of you - then again, I have turrets on the rear, so can always bring all weapon slots onto the enemy infront of me. Looking forward to getting my new ship :)

So peeps. Whos brave enough to do "/played" :D

3 days, 3 hours, 3 minutes :)

Sorry to sound negative but the game is only a few days old & people are level 40+ Admirals?

Doesnt sound like this game has any lastability, I like a hard slog like EverQuest used to be back in the day where you work hard for what you get.

It should take along time to become an Admiral, sounds to be like everyone will be running around as Admirals within weeks, not very realistic in terms of Star Trek - it should be earnt by dedicated hard work.

Only a handful and most people just farmed sector defend missions. At least lots of endgame content is on the way!

Guys i'm really interested in this as the game sounds top but i've never really been into Star Trek (didn't mind it, just was never interested).

Can i still Pick up and enjoy?

I dont see why not - there are quite a few people who have been enjoying the game and have never been that into Star Trek.

Hmmm, I'm enjoying it, but like most cryptic games it's incredibly confusing initially.

Also, am I missing something, I've been playing most of yesterday and today and I've got to Level 5, does that sound about right? It does feel like I'm levelling very slowly.

There is no right or wrong speed to level :)

This game isn't about reaching the level cap, it is about your experience along the way and enjoying the missions/exploration/whatever else you want to do :)

Have you joined our OcUK fleet? Can be useful if you have questions.
