Umm, the T5 ships are only 1200 each (and its account wide unlocks)

They did claim they will be reducing the prices on a lot of items but as with everything that comes from Cryptic i'll believe it when i see it.


Bit bemused at the features matrix, unlike LoTRO's setup it seems like ex-subscribers that drop down to free players are treated practically the same as a brand new free player thats never gave them a penny.

Example: In LoTRO a VIP player gets all their trait slots unlocked on any character they log into while VIP and they stay unlocked when you stop subbing. In STO's setup if you drop from Gold to Silver you lose most of your bridge officer slots unless you unlock them from the store.
 
I did make one payment for complete access. :D Admittedly it was for lifetime access. :)

If I'm wrong on the C-Store prices I do apologise, it's been a little while since I used it.

Would also be nice if Cryptic gave points for doing accolades like Turbine do in LotRO for Deeds..
 
Not sure how I will approach this. Whether to start a new account, or transfer some of my previous toons to F2P? My worry is that they haven't added much since I left earlier in the year, and I had gotten bored with the current format.

Can't fault the devs though, had some great conversations with them and they were trying their best to suit a very immature, volatile community (basically your typical MMO community).
 
This may have already been asked but I cant find any info on it. Will my ye olde character be available as free to play? I stopped playing a few months after release and my account hasn't been active since. I'm tempted to give it another shot as my character was a fairly high level.
 
Amusingly there has been no proper new content since the last Feature Episode series finished in March.

Some missions were remastered, the Klingon homeworld got redone, Starfleet Academy was added and recently the Borg invasions were added (glorified DSE's with timers really) and thats it.

Yes but it has to be converted to a free character first, what exactly that involves is still unclear.
 
Rave, i noticed that the fleet will collapse if either us dont upgrade or stay as gold.

Also some characters could loose things as

"Convert a character to silver"

not good!

I'm wondering if now is the right time to go lifetime lol

prob the safe way is to keep a high rank char as gold (not convert)
and start a new silver char!

Hey chaps, I dunno if I am still in the Fleet or not as I stopped playing after about a month but I bought a lifetime sub so if you need me to help you keep the fleet alive I'm always happy to update my game and log in as I still have it installed :)

You should still be there, I only kicked out one person who had been stealing loot and wasn't an OcUK member.

What is your Captain name? Perhaps JGBR could promote you to give you more control over the fleet? We could certainly use some lifers to keep it alive.

Don't want to step on any of your plans though JGBR :)

No it won't I'm a lifer.. And that was part of the reason Rave also made me Fleet Admiral, just incase this happened, and any of the other FA's couldn't login.

I presume that its worth setting up a second account for a free account and just leaving the gold account perhaps

or

It says you have to convert char, adding a new char now to your account and just converting one to silver and leaving one as gold?
