Star Trek Online

Well even tho i hope they dont sell FE i can guess they will because CO is selling the adventure packs and sto equivalent are the FE so its kinda gona go p2p for FE.

Shame :( they should have just made it a normal multiplayer game, not an MMO, Co-op mode bridge commander type thing, or mix between elite force/ship combat/strategy etc. :(

Well everybody wanted a EVEO competitor and many fans said of critical problems with STO in the first couple of months. While changes were made it seems the core issues were never changed and hence lead us to this point.

I completely disagree.

Champions Online has gone from strength to strength whilst being F2P.

Nothing much has happened to STO in a long time - it badly needs the F2P model.

Yep, all you have to do is look at games that went FTP, and you'll see their revenue increased.

That's not too bad, they're not really restricting anything that we have at the moment, other than chat access, and I generally stay out of that anyway. Looks like they hope to make most of their money from vanity items in the cstore.

Seems pretty fair tbh. A lot of what they are "limiting" aren't really necessary features anyway e.g. energy credit storage limit - there is nothing to spend them on in the game anyway!

I still think this is the best move for STO and one they should have done a long time ago.

Just a little miffed that the monthly stipend is only a measly 400 credits. I know it's the same amount as in Champions Online, but most STO store purchases are much more expensive than CO's store. Most of the Tier 5 ships are 3000+ points.. so it'll be 8 months just to get one.

LOTRO is 500 per month, and the store has frequent price reductions, that's what Cryptic should do.
