Didn't think we had auto-fire in the game
Closest appears to be the tac officer option to fire all energy weapons at random targets.
Alternatively, just hammer the fire button

In the ships weapons tray, RIGHT CLICK, each weapon, and the border will go green. When the border is green it will autofire at your target if in range.
Right click again to turn auto fire off.

I got the Odyssey last night, although I can't actually use it yet. Seems like a reasonable ship, though!

For instructions how to get auto fire back. The patch this morning broke the UI for it so you have to use a command to get it back on in chat.

Chat is limited untill u reach a certain rank i think. Shouldnt take too long.

took a few items from fleet store, but put a few back as also. Will add more when i get through the missions/fleet actions.
Did not know about the autofire thing.... think i will investigate that now...

It's to stop gold sellers spamming chat channels. Also to stop people claiming the game is incredibly pathetic before they've had a chance to judge it properly

I started playing this sunday im level 34 already.
I started off doing odds and ends here and there but now im doing all the episodes
Great stories I loved the klingon episode and now im on the Romulen.
This is the first time I have ever played a MMO and im really enjoying it.
I do have to say that I am dissapointed with the Defiant I thought it would kick a lot more butt then it does but I just has crap shields and no armour
I cant wait till I get to level 50 so I can use the odyssey to its full potential.
The mission where you stretch its legs was a nice little teaser and I want to know what this thing can do with real weapons and not the default ones

Get Tactical Team I for both your Tactical Officers. Run it all the time, works well if you always face your opponent with many dual heavy cannons.

Just incase any newbies get annoyed with autofire, it's currently bugged here is a work around.
enable autofire within the options menus then...
right-click on each weapon you want to autofire (you won't see anything change yet)
type /defaultautoattack 1
and then you should see them get the green outline, meaning they are now autofiring.
I wouldn't get the same skill twice, but that's me since they share a cool down (global)
i find cannon volley and rapid fire much more important than tac team
dont get me wrong it can destroy ships and take names but it doesn't take a lot to destroy it. If I get surrounded by 3 or more big ships im screwed and I have been destroyed more than a few times blowing up a ship and not getting away in time for it to go boom and take me out

You know if you click on the little arrow thingie on the shield diagram it will reinforce that shield? Helps when you're in something's face when it goes boom
