I got a key from that site and it's activated, but I can't find a download linke, fileplanet is for subs only :\

You can use the Fileplanet download as a free member too. Only other options atm are the Cryptic downloader listed on the download page or the torrent.

Anyone know if the STO launcher would download the entire game the way most MMO launchers will? Might be a good alternative as the patchers speeds are apparently fast compared to the download methods if someone doesn't mind hosting it to check.

Apparantly takes 100+ hours to get to Admiral and 300+ hours to attain all skills. Open beta starts tonight @6pm.

Have you tried just using the launcher to download it? It comes directly from the servers rather than using a p2p system like torrents and the client downloader.

This is an older client but it's maxing out my connection speed at just shy of 1MB/s http://games.on.net/file/31515/Star_Trek_Online_Beta_Client_v20091228

That client is from the end of december, any of you closed beta folks know if the CB client was patchable to OB? If so then this'll do nicely as its only a 2 hours or so DL.
