Star Trek Online

1. Duno as i dont play pvp personally but friends who do like it and its getting better.
2. Klingons have been getting some good updates but it is still no where near and never will be as close to pve contentwise as feds as they arnt designed for it. Mate told me yes its worth it tho now just to experiance a raid on the federation tho not sure if its ship or station but he said it was amazing.
3. Populations ok, not bad and seems more popular lately probably because of the featured episode runs.
4. Crafting well its better than it was and still memory alpha. The klingons get crafting in season 3 but not sure how its going to be except they raid for anomolies instead of gather them the way feds do im led to believe. Their are plans to improve and redo it totally but they can only do so much at a time so ull just have to wait.
5. Ship interoirs have normal sized doors and sliding doors. Social places like ds9 and ESD still have huge doors. BUT they are going to be redoing these places as and when. I believe klingon homeworlds getting it first tho and ESD as in redone externally and probably internally to the old ESD from the TMP era.
6. You can visit engineering, mess hall, sickbay and ready room. You can have trophies in lounge and ready room, their isnt anything to do yet but as usual they plan to but will take time as they can only do so much at once.
7. Im not sure about end game as i just made rear admiral upper half 1 not long ago. If you havent been around for awhile i think their is more now but i duno how much.

Oh and pi canis is now open to klingons and contains 3 dailys.

Lots and lots of dailies now :)

I had a wee blast at this since I purchased mid week and so far I'm on the fence. It hasn't quite got me engaged yet but I have only been playing a few hours and everyone tells me things get more fun later on.

Overall, I'd say it lacks polish but has potential if you want to get your ST rocks off.

Things get better once you get rid of the starting ship. Incidently, have we added you to the OcUK fleet? Need you Captainname@accountname if we haven't already :)

Still have refferal keys for anyone interested. Email me in trust.

I was on a trial of this early on in the year and I did enjoy it, infact the only MMO I have enjoyed and even considered buying.

I didn't buy as the ships couldn't move in space properly, which I found really annoying and the missions just seemed to buy shoot a space ship or land on a planet and kill an alien.

Have things changed?

Absolutely. The new feature epsidoes have all kinds of puzzles, RPG elements etc. I slated the game when I left after release. But things have changed a lot. It is a shame that a lot of people will not try the game again, but the leadership has changed and things are greatly improving. Can't wait for the sector space update!

Hopefully with the new sector space they can add much better and more varied random encounters, which are both random and a surprise. Be a great if on your way to a planet, an invasion force, comet, unknown planet, random destroyed or disabled ship to randomly appeared in front of you/on scanners. Would add to the exploration part of the game and give a reason to fly around randomly and in groups in case you meet a few enemy battleships on your travels.

This will almost certainly come along as part of the user generated content. We have already seen from the recent episodes how flexible the mission creating tools can be.

Sounds good, is there an ocuk guild type thing were total noobs in MMO are welcomed?

Are you lot very active on TS?

There is an OcUK fleet, "Full Impulse" - all members are welcome, including alt characters :)

Just post your Captainname@accountname here so that one of us can add you.

Do you have an active teamspeak?

Can I get a trial on my same account I used in my old trial?

Anon-e-mouse has setup a teamspeak server, the details of which are in our fleet tab - havent had a chance to use it yet. Not sure if you can setup a trial on an account which has already had one activated previously. If you email me in trust, I can get a key sent to you for you to try if you want?

Latest Engineering report (a lot of this is on Tribble right now and is soooo good). Can't wait to get the new ground combat -

Greetings!

First let me start by saying how much fun I've been having logging in on Saturdays to play the Feature Episodes with you. The Devidian Series was a big hit both with the team and with you apparently as our concurrency numbers have been climbing on Saturdays and we are seeing more players log in to check out what these Feature Episodes are all about. Thank you for spreading the word. You'd be surprised at how many blogs I've read that mention the Feature Series and we are fully committed to continuing to make these episodes an ongoing part of our regular updates.

By now, you have either hopped onto the TRIBBLE test server to check out some of the upcoming changes in Season 3, or you've been watching threads and videos by people who have. A big thank you to those who are actively on TRIBBLE helping us to track down issues and ensure that our Season 3 release is solid and as bug free as possible.

We are also very excited at the feedback we've been receiving about the Foundry from our Closed Beta participants. There has been a lot of discussion about whether the Foundry will be available on Holodeck when Season 3 releases or not. It is our goal, but we have a ways to go before we can give a definite yes. Our immediate attention is on getting the Foundry available on TRIBBLE possibly as early as next Monday so that we could enter Open Beta with the tools. That is our next hurdle with the Foundry and one the software team is working feverishly to hit.

Even if the Foundry is not made available on Holodeck at the release of Season 3, we will absolutely have it turned on in an Open Beta on TRIBBLE so that everyone can begin to learn the tools and begin play testing missions created by others. So no matter what, the Foundry is only a few weeks away for you.

With all the talk of Season 3, there is still much more coming down the road. I've added some new additions to the "in discussion" list that shows some features we are considering for our Season 4 release in April. In between now and then we'll also be releasing Feature Series 3 and 4 as well as other minor updates.

The biggest update in the list below is the moving of the Ground Combat updates from Season 3.x to a definite Season 4 release. With the amount of changes we are making to the way ground combat works, we have decided to give the design and animation teams more time to make sure they are completely happy with the new mode before it goes live. We do plan to get this onto TRIBBLE sooner than later though, so if you've been waiting for the new Ground Combat mode, we hear you and we'll get it to you for testing as soon as we can.

Now on to the report...

what happened to a fleet website and proper thing being setup?

Gimpymoo originally setup fleet forums, but no one used them. Stygian in the fleet has offered to create a website, but I am reluctant to ask him because I am not sure if anyone would use it. I have linked this thread to our fleet in STO, so we at least have a central location to post.

Will hopefully get a chance to hop on sometime this afternoon.

ive got a lot of catching up to do, well i was thinking about doing a site for all the missions i was going to write but make it fleet home as well, maybe change fleet name and all sorts and more formalise it.

just thoughts

Seems like a good idea. Perhaps wait to see if the foundry is any good first and go from there :)

I've been playing quite a lot, but there's rarely anyone on it seems. I'm now Commander rank and tbh the game seems more like a single player game than a MMO... the only chat I ever see is random people asking stuff in the zones.

Yeah, things have gotten a lot quieter on there - except during the weekly episodes. I suspect we will see more people have the season 3 patch is released.

Really does look great :) - it finally feels like you are at warp.

Can't wait for season 3. Going to start a new alt along with the Enterprise pack - will probably go tactical and escort again, I loved those ships! That, or I might try to get to the endgame with the NX :p

I hit first admiral rank and content seems to have hit a brick wall, up until then I had decent missions to go on but now I can't even find any missions past some low ranking captain ones :/

Am I supposed to go somewhere? I always assumed I get all missions from the communicator button.

I noticed the same, when you hit admiral, there is a content gap for about 3 levels or so. Same happens for the last few admiral ranks too. Best I can suggest is to grind some exploration or daily missions until you reach level 43 (at which point the Borg and Undine sectors open up). Once these open, any content gaps can quickly be filled by exploration of the B'tran cluster and with the remaining daily missions that pop up. Are you sure you have done all of the new episodes too?

I was thinking about setting up a site following my STO charchter and also a link of my missions for STO.

Possible use for new fleet? or reformed OCUK fleet?

New/reformed fleet? Would certainly be useful to have a new fleet website. Might be worth looking to get some new members into the fleet, outside of OcUK - although I would need to take a look at the bank permissions first.
